Broken promises. Career FBI and DOJ members let go. Loyalists to the Constitution. People doing their jobs. Research assignments. Unqualified lackeys as replacements. High level servants fired. Lies. Why isn’t this being noticed?
As I mentioned, there is a purge of most, if not all, high level DOJ and FBI agents being fired just because they are high level and “can’t be trusted” to do the Mango Mandarin’s will. This is not about public safety. It’s about control. It’s about revenge. All the people who worked on the J6 riot are under the gun just because they followed orders/assignments and did their jobs.
The Trump Department of Justice made moves on Friday to fire FBI employees and prosecutors who were involved with the government’s cases against U.S. President Donald Trump and the participants in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
First, on Thursday, several senior FBI officials—stationed both at headquarters and in the field—were told to either resign or be fired. Then, at 5 pm Eastern Time on Friday, dozens of DOJ prosecutors who worked on January 6 cases received an email saying they had been fired. Also on Friday, an email sent to FBI employees told them that acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, who previously represented Trump in the cases against him, had requested a list of everyone who had worked on January 6 cases “to determine whether any additional personnel actions are necessary.”
“Firing the FBI agents who investigated violent attacks against police officers on January 6 would set a dangerous precedent and make all of us less safe,” Stand Up America executive director Christina Harvey said in a statement. “This is a shameless act of political retribution that weakens federal law enforcement and the rule of law. This is a massacre meant to chill our efforts to fight crime without fear or favor.”
What the holy hell. People were doing their *jobs* and got caught in retribution for something they did, except there was no way to tell *what* they did for the case. AG nominee Pam Bondi and Director-nominee Kash Patel promised there would not be retribution. Well, we know that was a lie, and a rather big one. They aren’t even confirmed yet. I’m sure the fact that they were wrecking people’s lives never came up. You can’t be caught in a lie if you “don’t know what’s happening” right? If you don’t see the emails, or security escorting people out, you don’t know about it. I call BS. LOTS of BS. And I call BS on the Cheeto Prophet. Trump, meanwhile, said on Friday that he was not aware of the firings, but added, “If they fired some people over there, that’s a good thing, because they were very bad. They were very corrupt people, very corrupt, and they hurt our country very badly with the weaponization.”
I *really* call BS. It’s blatantly obvious that he knew damn well what was going on and pretended not to know. He wants everyone who touched the cases against him to go. He’ll replace them with people that have no need to be there since they don’t/won’t know SH*T. And our slide into a banana republic continues. Nothing is what it seems anymore. Is our country even going to last 4 years?

Susan, here’s my coping wish:🤞 We’ve known since the election that we would be in hell for a long time to come. But, I kinda thought hell would be a slower roll than this…like a cartoon where the steamroller moves slowly and flattens you while you try to struggle out. I am now oddly hopeful that because Sphincter Face, et.al., hit the turbo button on that roller, the pain might be over sooner. Even the the deepest corners of MAGA are perked up to what might have escaped notice or been more easily rationalized at a slower pace. This administration is obviously testing boundaries, throwing out “norms” that sadly never really existed, and daring anyone to stop it. But, inadvertently, these lunatics are no longer successfully using the slow drip of a propaganda water torture. They have chosen waterboarding…people are drowning in it, they are choking, they can’t get a breath. At the very least, it is something much harder to ignore and it should be the start of every message from Ken Martin and the “new” DNC! 🤞
It is GOP mantra that they “Back the Blue”. Catchy but, as we’ve seen, just words for many. But not all. FBI operatives do not overtly wear the Blue but they are surely every bit as Blue. Aren’t there any GOP members who will see and voice that?
