Ho, ho, ho. It seems that Hegseth isn’t doing too well in the words department. He’s having trouble answering the Senator’s questions. He is under fire. Senators aren’t backing down. As you expected, he’s dancing around, refusing to answer, and going on the attack. The 3 different articles I’ve read on RS have been different conversations. He is looking worse and worse. His glorious war isn’t glorious. As a matter of fact, it isn’t doing anything at all except lobbing missiles and maybe drones, trying to grind down Iran, and they toss missiles and drones at our allies or ships needing to pass through the Strait. We really can’t afford this. We’ve used up too much already. With respect to Raw Story:
The already contentious and fiery Senate hearing Tuesday on Capitol Hill with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine went off the rails as Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) and Hegseth devolved into shouting at each other. “Despite your failure to win this war, you are back now before Congress asking for almost $70 billion in additional funding,” said Peters. “You’re asking the American people for a blank check, because once again, the Trump administration’s efforts have been an utter and complete failure to win this war to this point. So my question for you, sir, is how is your strategy different than what we’ve seen in the past?”
Oooo ta. He’s getting right to the point. As a matter of fact, inquiring minds want to know. What *is* the strategy now? It certainly seems they don’t have anything, going along with how often I harp on it, and I know you folks are getting sick of it, but seriously! What is the strategy? We know that there are billions of dollars being spent on this war, from the missiles to the ships, to the people who are *on* those ships and should have been swapped out weeks ago! They won’t say how it’s different because they thought that they would bomb the country, the Iranians would say no mas, and that would be it. Well, didn’t work that way. “No plan survives it’s first contact with the enemy.” Now, back to Petey Boy.
Hegseth appeared rankled at the premise of the question. “I think your characterization of this incredible effort as a failure is reckless,” he shot back. “And I think it’s irresponsible, and I think it smears the sacrifice of the troops that are out there making on behalf of the American people to ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. Shame on you and others who call this a quagmire and a failure.”
Oh, please. Shame on you? Notice Hegseth didn’t answer the question. He’s been taking lessons from Trump. Attack, attack, attack. *yawn* Wake me up when he’s done. He never explains *anything*. He just picks a sentence from what someone has said and tries to twist it around. Plus, he *can’t* admit it’s been a failure, because it’s true thus far.
“Secretary Hegseth, if you listened to my comments, you would have heard me say how amazing our warfighters are,” said Peters, as Hegseth tried to shout over him that he had called them “failures.” “I will tell you how I used the word failure. Because I used the word failure to their leaders. You, sir, are the failure!” Peters yelled. “Not the men and women who are on that front line, not the men and women who hold up their honor with distinction.” Hegseth shot back, “You have Trump Derangement Syndrome!”
Petey, Petey, Petey. Is that the best you can do? Spit out a used-up insult? That’s weak. And it’s a cop-out. He’s just proving he can’t answer that question because throwing the Trump Derangement Syndrome is old and worn out. It just shows him up as a child wanting to have the last word. Machismo, manly-man Hegseth has to go for an insult. Plus, they weren’t even asking about Trump. The stupid, it burns! Now. It would be interesting if Caine was asked any questions, because all that has come out thus far has been about Hegseth.
See you tomorrow!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
