For reasons passing understanding, Mike Pence believes that the GOP might nominate him to run for president of the United States. Good luck, Mike, but that’s almost sad. We should be so lucky that the Republicans would nominate him. He would get mowed over.

But Mike truly thinks he can do it, which is very unfortunate because if he had no aspirations, he probably wouldn’t care about testifying against Trump and march in the courtroom door rather than fighting the subpoena. Mike has to look like he’s putting up a fight so as to… what? Not infuriate people that are going to vote for Trump? Be a team player?

That makes no sense to me, but neither does the GOP.

I’ll tell you what does make sense is Mike Pence out front saying that the GOP will have better choices than Trump (And I do not necessarily count DeSantis as a better choice). I am shocked that Pence would go straight at Trump this early rather than keep his head down and try to build up some loyalty among the evangelicals.

“I think the times call for different leadership. I’m confident we’ll have better choices than my old running mate. Americans want to see us and our politics return to the kind of civility and respect hat Americans show one another every day. I’m very confident that Republican primary voters are going to choose the right standard bearer for this moment in our nation’s history. Someone that can provide not only the policies in leadership but the style of leadership that will help bring our nation back.” – Mike Pence, adding to NBC News that he expects to announce his decision on running by the “spring.” The full interview airs tonight.

I would love for you to be right, Mike. You’ve been right one time before. Go for two!

    • I mean, really man. Civility and respect has been absent from our political discourse since… hell, at least since the newt’s contract on America–it certainly was degrading then. By the tine the tea baggers came on the scene it was pretty much gone.

I don’t know how to bring back civility and respect in this country. I do know however the G.O.P. are incapable of doing such a thing; they don’t wish to revive bipartisanship in any way shape or form.
