And this is glorious panic. There’s a problem that they are struggling to fix. It’s not looking good. As a matter of fact, it’s looking bad, *very* bad. People have morals. That’s “new and different”. We are so used to trying to deal with the ones that don’t, and forgetting that there are good people in this country. With gratitude to Raw Story:

The “Great American State Fair” – a multi-day festival organized by the President Donald Trump-linked group Freedom 250 – has seen a mass exodus of performers bail on the event after they learned of its ties to the president, and the Trump administration is scrambling to find acts to replace them, insiders told Zeteo in its report Saturday.

Heh. Freedom 250 didn’t think about the link to Trump. To have all these artists cancel says a lot for them and implies a lot against Trump. Far be it from us to complain. We should actually be celebrating. It’s a pity that Springsteen’s “goddamn ruckus” can’t add artists to the show. That would be the ultimate “flip-off bird” to Trump. If it were only closer. If any of you folks get to go, come back and give us all the details!

“We can’t just have Kid Rock every day [of the state fair],” a Trump appointee told Zeteo, speaking on the condition of anonymity. “It’s a little f—— embarrassing when you can’t hold on to Bret Michaels… But we’re confident we’ll get a good line-up.” According to multiple other sources, also all speaking on the condition of anonymity, most of those working on behalf of the artists booked for the event weren’t aware of what Freedom 250 even was, or its connection to Trump.

Trump is toxic. Any link to him whatsoever will drag someone down. It doesn’t matter where in the hierarchy you are. It could reach out and touch you at any time. It’s a pity that more Republicans in Congress refuse to see this. For them, it is embarrassing. And it’s tiring to watch them follow Trump’s lead wherever they go. But we were discussing performers. Talent. Talent that will go elsewhere or not at all.

The Trump administration’s search for replacement acts may prove difficult, however, based on the feedback from one “well-connected Hollywood agent” who spoke with Zeteo on the condition of anonymity. “I don’t think most of my clients even need me to tell them this, but I would tell [them]: If someone approaches you about performing at Trump’s state fair, flush that invitation down the toilet if you know what’s good for your career,” the agent told Zeteo.

Ahahaha! Flush it down the toilet. Bonus points for flushing it down in a gold toilet. These performers aren’t stupid. They may not speak out against Trump as Springsteen has, but they know enough of Trump to cancel their performances. The organizers are going to have a tough time getting “replacement” acts. Trump is deadly. ETTD.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. From what I’ve read online, Bret Michaels’ cancellation was due to 2 things; he and his band do not do political things and he and his family have received violent threats. I can’t imagine any other performers willing to do such a thing.
