I made it a point not to watch the Orangeutan’s bigly announcement speech last night, mostly because I got better things to do, like sharpening pencils, and also because I knew it would be mostly the same old tired shit.
And, from what I gathered from clips posted on Twitter, I was entirely right about that assumption.
My key take aways?
Stephen Miller has not learned how to write any better in the eighteenth or so months since drumpf left office, and, the issues he badly wrote about and that drumpf badly vocalized between Adderall induced sniffs, have also not much changed from drumpf’s Inagurual speech, which Miller also wrote and now.
Stolen election, racist dog whistles about the southern border, Biden weak/Trump Strong etc. etc. ad nauseam.
In fact what I saw was in those clips was so predictable from the drumpf/Miller apocalypse fetish team, I wondered from what angle would I be able to write about it.
At least until I saw this tweet:
Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something unpleasant after a period of relief.
— Susie Dent (@susie_dent) November 16, 2022
Merriam-Webster defines “recrudescence” thusly:
“A new outbreak after a period of abatement or inactivity.”
Well, that is certainly apt, but not overwhelmingly so, I thought until I scrolled down a bit and realized why Susie found the word so spot on in this situation:
“Recrudescence derives from the Latin verb recrudescere, meaning “to become raw again” (used, for example, of wounds). Ultimately, it can be traced back to the Latin word for raw,” which is “crudus.” (If you suspect that “crude” is also derived from “crudus,” you are correct; another well-known descendant is “cruel.”)
In its literal sense, “recrudescence” is a medical word denoting a renewed outbreak of a disease. In extended use, it most often describes the return of an undesirable condition, such as a war or a plague, or the return of an undesirable idea.”
“Renewed outbreak of a disease?”✅
“Crude”✅✅
“Cruel”✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
Seems Susie provided us with the prefect word:
But there was no relief. He never went away.

And my second word of the day:
MAGAGA – Make America Great and Glorious Again.
Acyn and followers had much to say about that:
MAGAGA? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

— ERlady ☮ (@mainecoonmommy) November 16, 2022
Well, it’s a baby speechifying for babies so…
His base will have to google the definition of 'glorious' and try find a way to add it to their new red hats.
— Carolina Pantherz (@CPantherz) November 16, 2022
Yup
"great and glorious", I just picture an America fuller of shantytowns due to disasters while he lives in a penthouse adorned with golden statues of himself.

Just as Miller envisions it…

🤣🤣🤣
So there you have it, your words for today…
Asking for a friend, is there such a thing as a recrudescent baby?

Dino, I love your choice of word of the day. I will save and use it sometime during my Toastmasters meeting either tomorrow or down the road.
Thank! But credit Susie also.
I did notice that MAGAGA has the word GAG right in the middle of it.
crudo is a slang term for hungover in Spanish. it also means raw.
He stole Oz’s crudites!!!!!!
magaga. I thought maga was about as stupid as anything out there. Then I remembered, there’s no bottom to this well.
We’ll be calling them magagats? Just makes them sound like idiots instead of disgusting. Bit of a come down.
Why not? They’re already gaga
