I needed to step up and say something about this. Our household was *extremely* worried about what Trump was going to do at 8 pm. He’s nearly completely nuts at this point. We had no idea what he would throw at them. And hitting civilians was the ultimate OH HELL NO. The waiting game was nerve-wracking. It was even difficult for me to concentrate very well. I was having trouble writing because that was so deeply stuck in my mind, and all of you know how rare *that* is (ha).
I am perfectly THRILLED that Trump backed down. Yes, he’s embarrassed and humiliated. And he’s not going to forget this. But we aren’t going to need to track radioactive clouds. Well, not yet. Yes, we were afraid he would go to the extreme. Wiping out a civilization? Yea, that. Hegseth is no voice of reason. He just wants to do more, more, more. That’s crazy. And it seems, at least, that Iran has backed down for now, also.
I really hope this ceasefire works. I hope someone doesn’t have a twitchy finger. And for now, at least, no boots on the ground. Let’s fervently hope it stays that way. You’ve all heard about that from us, specifically Denis. I’m peripheral. I can talk generally, but we are so fortunate to have Denis because he *knows* the things and explains them to us. This war has been quite an education! It’s shown me how much I *don’t* know. That’s an even better reason to stay general.
My household is very pleased that this was stopped. It was insanity. Not *every* power plant and *every* bridge could be used by the military. And to do that to the people, well, we would be right on the edge of a potential war crime. That’s something else we’ve mentioned here on Pz.
We have a ceasefire in the war. Let’s hope they make the most of the next 2 weeks.

Any reasonable observer knows that Trump lost his “back to the Stone Age” gamble and was humiliated by the result. But does TRUMP realize that? My guess is that he truly believes his threat was successful, even though the details of the ceasefire agreement show that it wasn’t. So look out for even more sensational idiocy in the next few years…
My thinking is that this was a way for him to command the attention of not only the country, but the world. For a little while, that was the case. His ego has to be happy with that aspect. Remember, he fancies himself a mafioso and a strong man dictator. My husband called it when he said tRump would TACO again. Sure enough, he did and just in time for the evening news.
I intend to give him less of my time and attention going forward. Like Murfster has concluded, it’s just not good for my mind or soul.
Hmmm, another good point I had not considered. He certainly did have the attention of the world for awhile, mostly because everyone thought he was whacked. We have allies pulling away because of it. Soon we’re not going to have any allies with the foolery he he keeps pulling. Or it’s going to be surface only. With what Trump has done, he deserves it. Too many insults and demands have worn out our welcome.

For one thing, I'm not good at it like Murf is/was. For another, I don't need his psyche crawling around in my head. The good thing is how much I learn from you and other readers. We can look at the surface and figure out enough to talk about.
Agreed. Yes, he lost. Sure, it’s embarrassing to us in general, but I’m seriously happy the war has stopped, at least for now. Well, mostly. Just found out that the Strait is closed down again because Israel keeps bombing Lebanon. People are idiots. It seems that Israel doesn’t want the war to stop, and is screwing the world (again) by doing so. I currently can’t think of any way that someone could point this out. It’s frustrating to see.
