He may not be in the administration anymore, but he still has his finger on the pulse of the nation, and wow, does he know his “stuff”!! MAGA should know better than to take him on, as they’ve lost Every Single Time. Was there ever a time when he was caught flat-footed? If so, it’s far in the past. With respect to Raw Story:
A political commentator mocked a MAGA TV host for having a complete meltdown after being fact-checked on air. David Pakman, host of the liberal news commentary show, “The David Pakman Show,” said in a new video that MAGA CNBC host Joe Kernan got “dogwalked” by Democrat Pete Buttigieg during an interview on Monday. Buttigieg fact-checked Kernan on a couple of claims he made about the economy during the Biden administration, which caused Kernan to lose his cool.
Oh, h0 h0 h0 that must have been a sight to see! Fact-checked *on air*. The right-wing personalities seem to forget the truth a lot of the time, conveniently. Then they get all bent out of shape when corrected. It’s certainly entertaining for our side! Right-wing news is mostly “yes, whatever”, with an occasional *hmmm, interesting” thrown in. Usually, they are just pontificating, so it’s dull. And repetitive. Not that left-wing news necessarily has any room to talk. We have our own failings, too.
“It takes two to tango … On the one hand, Pete Buttigieg is really good at this stuff. On the other hand, Joe Kernan, who has come after me on Twitter and is just a triggerly guy overall, is not well-suited to remaining calm when he’s getting dogwalked by Pete,” Pakman said. In one exchange, Buttigieg said he doesn’t see an “obvious” way out of the war in Iran, which has caused global energy prices to skyrocket since the skirmish began about six weeks ago. Rising energy prices have also driven consumer prices to the highest point in two years, according to the latest economic data.
“Dog walked”. Let the laughter commence as it has already done here! That’s a beautiful turn of phrase. It should be used more often, because not only is it an apt comparison, but it will make them even madder, which leads to more ridiculous talking, screaming, etc., etc., etc. We all know about prices, and since they’re “only” consistently going up, no need to get into it. We know damn well they’re not going to come down.
Kernan claimed that Trump’s economy is doing better than Biden’s because inflation is lower. Buttigieg reminded Kernan that the latest data show prices increased by 3.3% year-over-year, compared with the 2.9% inflation rate under the Biden administration. “He said on day one it would go down, and he came in, and now it’s up,” Buttigieg said. Kerner lost his cool and continuously interrupted Buttigieg during the segment.
“This is not a debate in any sense of the word,” Pakman said. “When one person loses control of their ability to think and their ability to remain calm, this is what it looks like.”
Let me tell you that I believe Mr. Buttigieg is amazing. He’s smart and well spoken. We are very fortunate to have him on “our side”. There is no hint as to whether or not he might run for president. He would be a good one, but so would a couple of other people I can think of. It’s going to be tough. We need someone strong who has a decent chance at fixing some of Trump’s mess, and it’s going to take some hard, hard work. In the meantime, enjoy Kernan’s meltdown.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

” Not that left-wing news necessarily has any room to talk. We have our own failings, too.”
Maybe, but the ‘Left’ or more accurately the ‘non-right wing’, have a commitment to telling the truth, of searching for it, and not to tell or repeat lies but to debunk them.
The failings of news coverage from the left fade to almost nothing when compared with the deliberately dishonest utterances of the right, told to further ‘beliefs’ and ‘spin’, not real truth or facts. Just look at coverage of anthropogenic climate change, slavery, history, renewable energy, human rights, freedom of religion, or gun control to name just a few, to see that the right wing nutjob media prefer made-up stories, i.e. lies, or what they like to call ‘narrative’ over truth and facts.
As the saying goes, they find it more profitable to tell comforting lies than confronting truths. And look where it’s got us.
I’ll stick to a media that tells confronting truths, as I’ve found that living in reality is, in the end, easier and less harmful than trying to live in a fantasy.
Truths are always preferred, whether I like them or not. I was trying to balance between both “sides”. The language manipulation of the right is impressive and so, so obvious once it’s read through. As you said, living in reality is much better than living in a fantasy, because reality will eventually break through, and then what will they do? Cry, scream, stomp their feet? And we’ll be yawning while seeing them do so.
