Well, our unfavorite Moses Mikey Johnson got his hair blown back in an open letter to him by Epstein survivors. They did not hold back, yet tried to be polite and forceful. He deserved it. The world may listen to them more than him because Mikey is a gutless, asshole, spineless, wimp.
He says he won’t bring back the House until the government is open again. Funny, we thought it would need *both* divisions of Congress to do so. The Senate is working, but the House is essentially on an unwanted vacation. Oh, yea, did we mention he’s a dick? Well, he’s a dick with his lips firmly attached to Trump’s ass. From Raw Story:
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was confronted on Thursday with an open letter from the victims of the late billionaire financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, calling on him to stop obstructing the swearing in of Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ). Grijalva was elected weeks ago to the seat vacated when her father, Rep. Raul Grijalva, passed away earlier this year. Johnson has refused to seat her, insisting the House won’t reconvene until the government shutdown ends. Many critics have speculated that his real motive is to stave off the final vote needed for a bipartisan discharge petition to compel the Trump administration to release the Epstein case files, at least until he can get a Republican who signed on to back off.
Yannow, the Republicans are likely enough really pissed at him for the stupid, ridiculous, excessive, unwanted, involuntary vacation when they have work to do, to be dissuaded from changing their votes, or at least we hope so. The survivors need this publicized just as much as the public does, and probably more so. They *know* what they went through. They are *survivors* of one of the nastiest, most disgusting, depraved, repulsive men to walk this earth. It’s impossible to describe him as much as we need to. It’s hard to imagine what it was like, and every woman we have here in America should have an inkling of and empathy for what happened to them.
Epstein survivors raked Johnson over the coals in their open letter. “Grijalva was duly elected and certified to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives,” stated the letter, signed by not just several Epstein victims but the family of the late survivor Virginia Giuffre. “Her constituents have spoken, and their voice deserves representation without further delay. The continued refusal to seat her is an unacceptable breach of democratic norms and a disservice to the American people. Even more concerning to us as survivors, this delay appears to be a deliberate attempt to block her participation in the discharge petition that would force a vote to unseal the Epstein/Maxwell files.”
Touche! Game, set, and match. They said the quiet part out loud. Damn, but that was brave, and harsh, and again, deservedly so. They were able to say what we have been thinking – that the refusal to bring back the House is a fear of the discharge petition. It is awesome that they did, and in a manner he can’t avoid. This was an open letter, sent to him but also publicly available. And that’s only part of it! Here, have some more to close:
“The American public has a right to transparency and accountability and we, as survivors, deserve justice,” the letter continued. “Any attempt to obstruct a vote on this matter by manipulating House procedure or denying elected members their seats-is a direct affront to that right and adds insult to our trauma.” “Speaker Johnson must stop using procedural tactics to protect the powerful and instead uphold the integrity of our democratic institutions,” said the letter. “Our trauma is not a pawn in your political games. Every day you stall is another day survivors are denied justice, and the American people are denied the truth. Swear in Representative Grijalva and let democracy speak.”
BOOM. Mikey, you’ve been busted. Wow, that’s powerful. Will this have an effect? There’s not much he can spin out of this. He’ll harumph and make excuses about anything, but … he has been caught fair and square. It’s pretty rough and *very* well done. We can’t say it any better. Moses Mikey better have a fire extinguisher available because if not, he had better find one in a hurry because he has been SCORCHED in a major fashion.
WHAM. He deserves all of that. It’s all because he is afraid. Afraid of Grijalva taking her seat. Afraid of the Senate working on a bipartisan deal to get the government open that has to make it through the House. Afraid of the Epstein Maxwell files. Afraid of the ACA credits being brought back from the hell they were relegated to because of the Big Ugly Bill. He *should* be afraid of that one because he could lose his seat in the next election. The public needs to help the survivors get Moses Mikey’s feet *in* the fire. You’d better wake up, boy. You are in Trouble with a capital T.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Maybe the survivors need to check with an attorney and see if they can SUE Johnson–not for his refusal to seat Grijalva but, as an accessory to Epstein’s crimes by helping to prolong a coverup.
So question/thought….since the government is shut down is it essentially taxation without representation? Are we as tax payors allowed to withhold our federal deductions on our pay checks?
I would love it if a Republican rep in a purple district grew a spine, stepped up, and signed the petition. Making the evil elf’s stalling irrelevant.
