There will likely be more strange twists and turns of the two biggest stories of the New Year, the New Year’s Day morning truck attack in New Orleans and the exploding Tesla “truck” placed in the concierge parking area in front of the Trump Tower in Las Vegas – both acts seemingly committed by purported ex-military Trump supporters. At least on the surface the motive behind the New Orleans attack, at least as reported, seems obvious, the driver of the truck was an internet converted supporter of the radical Muslim terror group ISIS who flew their black flag on his truck as he plowed through the overnight revelry on Bourbon Street. It takes no stretch of the imagination to understand why an American follower of an illiberal organization that murders gay men and detests women could also be a Trump supporter, in fact some might say it is just par for that course…

But why would a 30 something year old ex- Green Beret that supported Trump detonate a car bomb, particularly a Tesla, outside one of Trump’s signature properties? And though the answer to my next question would seem obvious, given the horror of burning to death, why would he shoot himself before doing so?

Raw Story

”The suspect behind the Cybertruck explosion at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas was a self-described “super soldier” with a sophisticated knowledge of explosives — and he “loved Trump,” according to an uncle who spoke to The Independent.

Matthew Livelsberger, a Green Beret from Colorado Springs, reportedly rented the Cybertruck and drove it to Las Vegas. Police identified his burned remains from tattoos — and confirmed he had a fatal gunshot wound that occured before the truck exploded.

His uncle Dean told The Independent that Livelsberger was “like a Rambo-type, for lack of a better word,” and his actions don’t make any sense.“

Now, there are are any number of reasons a man might commit suicide, but chief among them are professional disappointment or a disaster in one’s love life, but neither seem to be the case here: Livelsberger was on extended leave (that might turn out to be a hint) from the Army where he was only one year away from retirement, but was in the meantime making good money consulting and recruiting for the Ukrainian Army. And his divorce and separation from his ex-wife was several years in the rear view – so despondency over a lapsed love affair would hardly seem to be a cause.

Perhaps the next few paragraphs of the “Raw Story” provide a clue:

“He used to have all patriotic stuff on Facebook, he was 100 percent loving the country,” he continued. “He loved Trump, and he was always a very, very patriotic soldier, a patriotic American. It’s one of the reasons he was in Special Forces for so many years. It wasn’t just one tour of duty.”

He also added that the nature of the explosive device didn’t match what he knew about his nephew.

“Matt was a very skilled warrior, and he would be able to make — if it was him, and if he did this — he would’ve been able to make a more sophisticated explosive than using propane tanks and camping fuel. He was what you might call a ‘super soldier.’ If you ever read about the things he was awarded, and the experience he had, some of it doesn’t make sense, when he had the skills and ability to make something more, let’s say, ‘efficient.’ His skills were enormous from what he had been taught in the military.”

Could it be that this “super patriot” was so troubled by his dear leader’s relationship with the South African transplant who has such little regard for his fellow Americans that he prefers to hire foreign-educated engineers to produce his cyber vehicles, that he staged this bizarre tableau outside his golden slab of a desert hotel to demonstrate his disapproval… and… perhaps serve a grisly warning?

And did he perhaps assemble an amateurish explosive device that was more fire than blast in such away that Trump’s paying guests were in little danger?

And why would he purportedly kill himself when he had the skills to do it all remotely?

Perhaps that answer has something to do with his extended leave from the army, perhaps not.

In any case this will likely not be the most bizarre story to emerge from the second Trump tenure, or, perhaps, even from its precursor.

    • As well as can be expected I suppose. My part time job is not going so well, so I hope to make a little income here. We’ll see how it goes.

  1. Those 2 events make for a weird start to 2025. Dino proides a good insight into the LV suicide and the unanswered questions as to why a Trump supporting serving specialist should commit suicide. Shamsud-Din Jabbar is not dissimilar in many ways. My sense (and this is speculation, Monday morning QB stuff) is that his personal affairs were such that this also seems to be a suicide (by cops). The ISIS connection clouds the story but its recruiters are known to prey on the people in vulnerable states

    • Apologies, I meant to add: In any case, who can divine the mind of a successful suicide. There are always so amny unanswered questions, especially for those who knew them, family and friends and what they might have seen and done

  2. odd, I just read elsewhere that his wife had left him over his infidelities SIX DAYS before the explosion. New wife?
It really does seem to be a case of spectacular suicide rather than attempted terrorism. but most people who burn themselves want someone to know what it was they were protesting. no sign of that yet here.
