Good lawd. DUDE. What the hell happened to him? He used to have a spine. Apparently, he sold it to Trump. He slobbers over Trump. That’s disgusting. But the thing today is that Lindsey doesn’t like to work on the weekends. It inconveniences him. Aw, poor BABY. From Raw Story:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) opened a speech on the Senate floor Saturday by complaining about having to work on a Saturday, while also endorsing President Donald Trump’s proposal to take the billions of dollars earmarked for Obamacare and send them directly to Americans. “So here we are on a Saturday… beautiful outside,” Graham mused as he opened his remarks on the Senate floor. The Senate is working a rare Saturday session in an effort to bring about an end to the ongoing government shutdown, now in its 39th day, the longest shutdown in U.S. history. Graham, however, was apparently not pleased about the rare weekend work, but did voice full support for an unorthodox proposal floated by Trump earlier in the day.

Ooooookay. We’re not sure if Lindsey does *any* work. He just nods and smiles and votes along party lines. Does anyone want to bet he doesn’t even take notes? No idea how to find out if he does or not, but it would be entertaining to find out. He could always just sleep through sessions since his lord and master, god Trump, does the same. That’s an entertaining thought. Ready for Trump’s proposal? Good because where we go!

On social media, Trump announced that he would be recommending Congress to sign off on a multibillion-dollar payout directly to Americans, and to do so with funds earmarked for Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA lies at the heart of the dispute that kicked off the government shutdown more than a month ago, with Democratic lawmakers refusing to back any spending bill that didn’t include an extension to ACA subsidies, which are set to expire this year and cause 4 million Americans to lose health insurance, and increase ACA premiums by 114% for millions.

What a heap of you-know-what! That’s ridiculous! One would think most people would prefer healthcare for themselves or their families. Throwing money at everyone is NOT going to help. When it’s gone, it’s gone, and then what? Trump isn’t going to keep spending money on Americans. He’s going to try and grift it for himself.

” Look at what I did for the people,” then comes “some of that comes to me”. Whoa now. Dead stop. People need their healthcare more than Trump needs any money. Actually, he definitely doesn’t need the $$$. He’s got half a gazillion grifts going already (see: ballroom “donors”). You know he’s got his fingers in everything (nasty) even though his sons “are in charge”. Oh HELL NO. *ahem* To close:

“Mr. President, in case you’re listening out there, I think you’ve come up with a good idea – count me on board,” Graham continued. “To my colleagues on this side, this is a fight worth having; to my Democratic colleagues, let’s open up the government, act like adults, and see if we can get this problem in a better spot.” Graham is not the only lawmaker to back Trump’s proposal: Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) also voiced support for the idea on social media Saturday, writing that she “totally” agrees with the plan. “Health savings accounts and across state line purchases are the way to go,” Blackburn wrote in a social media post

See my previous rant … er … paragraph on what Trump gets out of this. It’s not a solution. It’s not going to make a difference for a month or two, and then what? Yes, Lindsey, what’s your solution for healthcare? Do you not understand what’s at stake here? TACO comes to mind. Look at the *people* of the US, Mr. Graham. Put yourself in our place, that is, if you can get your lips unstuck from Trump’s ass. The Republican people in the Senate should look at the people. It’s anyone’s guess if they will finally do that or continue to wear the blinders. Mr Graham needs to open his eyes. Will he or won’t he?

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. He certainly has kissed the ring. Stuck on it like a lamprey: for why and for what? Dunno. Trump & Graham both know, perhaps. But that’s their shared secret, isn’t it? Any resultant and horrid real world consequences can be witnessed, as of now, for example. Graham does hold a position, that quite frankly, to those perceptive and curious, is an odd invention, is also puzzling and troublesome, and perversely creates a certain complicated political stink.
