Amazon is preparing a potential reboot of President Donald Trump’s signature former show, “The Apprentice,” hosted by his son, Donald Trump Jr., according to a new report.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing “people familiar with the matter,” that Amazon is in “early stage” discussions with the Trump family about relaunching the show. It comes after the corporate behemoth bought Melania Trump’s eponymous documentary for roughly $40 million.
Doesn’t that sound like fun? A new “Apprentice” show. We can’t wait! Well, actually, we can because it’s not something we would be interested in. It might be time to watch an episode just for the “OMG” factor of it, because we know it’s going to flop. Amazon has the money to blow (pun intended), and this will make them look even better in the Trump family’s eyes. Maybe.
If launched, the Amazon version of “The Apprentice” would appear on its Amazon Prime platform.
“Amazon’s deliberations about rebooting the TV show—and potentially casting Trump’s son in the starring role—is the latest example of how it has sought programming that would appeal to the president and his base of conservative supporters,” the report reads in part. “In some instances, the first family has profited from the push.”
Geeeeeee … ya think?!?!! Of *course* they profited. That’s the Trump family way. Everyone but Trump and Melania is staying well out of the spotlight since Trump was re-elected. Good for them, because to have a father like the way Trump is now? Ick. We wouldn’t want to be associated with him, either.
“Amazon MGM Studios head Mike Hopkins and other Amazon executives began talking about the reboot idea internally early last year, around the time Trump was being sworn in for his second term, according to some of the people familiar with the talks,” it added.
They must really be worrying about the conservative base to do something like this. MAGA would probably eat it up … the ones that haven’t left, that is. Surely there are better things that would appeal to the conservatives in the country. This is just embarrassing. Will Jr. be able to remember his lines?” And, no, if it happens, I don’t intend to watch any of it, even the first episode. I can do without the nausea.
