Yes, seriously. She handled a press conference today, and it was ugly on her side. What she said is a barn-burner. She not-so-subtly told the press to be on watch. This was more than her usual pitiful attacks. It was worse. And America may be in trouble. My compliments to Raw Story:
A political analyst was outraged on Tuesday after Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued an “abundantly clear” threat to the press during her briefing.
Leavitt, who returned early from maternity leave to hold the daily briefing, told reporters about the Trump administration’s efforts to “tone down the rhetoric” following the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday.
At the event, a lone gunman fired several rounds inside the Washington Hilton, where the dinner was held. A Secret Service agent was hit in their bulletproof vest and survived. No one was killed.
the president and members of his cabinet were rushed out of the event unscathed.
She could have stayed the full length of time, and we would be happy. But she’s back early and doing her usual nonsense – except this time it wasn’t nonsense. Tone down the rhetoric. That’s an uneasy and interesting thing to say. It certainly was intended to be intimidating. And this is from Karoline??!!! What is going on here? She’s always just come out and said this and that, and then attacks the media. That’s normal for her. But this time, it isn’t.
Leavitt mentioned several groups of people who could be more mindful of the words they choose, such as television and podcast hosts.
The latter category caught the attention of David Pakman, a liberal YouTube commentator and host of “The David Pakman Show.”
“Folks, they are going to come for the podcasts,” Pakman said in a new reaction video. “They are going to come for independent media. It is abundantly clear.”
Yikes! That’s something to worry about. Television and podcast hosts. Well, there are about a gazillion of those, so it won’t be as easy as they think to find all of them. Television hosts are a completely different animal. *Those* are not difficult to find. So, they are going to try to shut down anything that was said about Trump that was bad. Good grief. How do they think they’ll be able to do all this?
“What they want is for us to interpret and to assimilate and … affect our behavior is that criticism of Trump’s policies is not going to be seen favorably,” Pakman said.
“It’s not going to be seen as protected speech. If you … say that you believe the president is bad for the United States, you’re inciting violence.
Now, what a pathetic special snowflake perspective on speech.”
Indeed. Protected speech is in the Constitution. Apparently, we have to go by Trump’s version of the Constitution, and that freedom of speech against Trump is not protected. That’s bogus. It’s ridiculous. It’s only freedom if you’re bowing down to Trump and praising his every move, every decision. I wouldn’t last a day with that. All I would do is mock him and his work because this is ridiculous. Trump is old, he has physical issues, and glaring mental issues. Does anyone have any extra sharks and batteries they could share?
