Let’s just say that there’s no idea at all where this came from. It’s completely new and different. Yes, seriously. Sometimes you have to wonder if he just keeps ideas in a slot machine and spins it when he feels up to the effort, to make some sort of strange comment or idea. This is completely random, more so than usual. Respect to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran hasn’t “paid a big enough price” for the war stirred doubt and ridicule, as people reacted to one of his recent Truth Social media posts.
“I will soon be reviewing the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but can’t imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
See? Random, even for him. “Has not paid enough” makes no sense in the scheme of things. It seems like Trump is trying to save face, anything to give him the slightest edge up on that country. We’ll believe the “new plan” when we know more. Right now, it’s all hot air, and considering who it’s coming from, it’s pretty darn hot!
There’s also the treaty that Obama worked out over years of diplomacy that Trump tore up. You know, that no nukes treaty. They would have a certain amount of enriched uranium for power, but not bombs. And that, again, brings us to where we are today. Who will give in first, or will the impasse continue?
“Translation: Iran told Trump to get lost,” journalist Nancy Levine Stearns suggested on X. “Americans will keep paying high prices for Trump’s dumb war.”
“What people aren’t fully realizing yet is that Iran is sending the US their terms for the US surrender,” Darren Staley wrote. “Iran has won. Trump is now deciding how much winning by them he can allow without looking like a pussy.”
Writer Polly Sigh called Trump a “f—— lunatic” in response. “Gaslighting is America’s greatest pastime,” chimed in legal analyst Maryam Jamshidi.
“Hang on, I thought you ‘decimated them‘?” David Smuts said, pointing out Trump’s previous claims.
“I am just so tired of him interrupting my perfectly nice evening with his blithering on his stupid social media site,” Barbara Hoffmann wrote.
SCORCHED. Oh, yes, tell it like it is, folks. It’s a comedy of errors. Trump’s errors. We shouldn’t be in this position. We apparently didn’t have much of a plan. Overthrowing the regime is only possible if you figure out the best way to do it. That means you do NOT want to go in guns blazing. You need to look at the situation, figure out when and where, with the greatest chances of success. Far be it from me to pretend I know anything about how to do this. It’s a matter of knowledge, and mine is limited. But it really doesn’t seem like there was much of a plan besides blowing things up. That’s not helpful. And it failed.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
