Man. This seems to be the way of politics on this entire planet these days. Leaders in both France and Germany were toppled by no confidence votes in France and Germany and South Korea has moved to impeach its president for invoking martial law. Turbulence seems to be the way of all things political nowadays. And Mike Johnson may find himself going back to life in the shadows if this poll is even remotely accurate. Now before you see it, consider the source. This is none other than an avowed enemy of Johnson’s and who knows who he gave this *poll* to? But if it is indeed a random poll of any kind, look to see a new Speaker in the House in January.

Massie had been the most definite and the most vocal in his vow to not vote for Johnson to remain the Speaker. But he is far from being alone.

That was a while back but Marge is down on Mike again and floated the idea of a different Speaker before Xmas. So is Victoria Sparz. Paul Gosar joins with Massie and says he won’t back Johnson. “With such a narrow majority, he has done good a job and survived longer than expected until this huge miscalculation on the (bill),” said Ron Bonjean, a longtime Republican consultant in Washington. “However, it’s difficult to imagine anyone else being successful in this position with an ungovernable conference and little room to navigate with such a divided House.”

It’s a tough job to be in under the best of circumstances and these are not the best. Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who is undecided on voting for Johnson, told Axios last week the speaker will need to rely on Democratic votes to keep his job. Fat chance of that since Hakeem Jeffries made it clear that the Republicans weren’t going to get bailed out of their problems by the Democrats anymore. And then there’s this: Rep. Becca Balint (D-Vt.), a progressive who voted against ousting Johnson in May, told Axios: “He has betrayed our trust and we will never trust him again to hold to any agreement.”

Doesn’t sound like the Democratic cavalry is coming over the hill to save you, Mikey. And of course that leads us on to the next question, will there by a Speaker by January 6 so that the presidential election can get certified? Who knows? That’s the answer everybody would like to have. If you have a theory, tell it on social media, if you’re right, you’ll be famous.

  1. Hey Mr. Christianity. Look at the bright side…now you’ll have time to build the 2nd Ark. Probably a good idea, as your boy will roll back every law protecting the environment. The climate will continue to heat up in an endless loop of disasters; the ice will melt at a rate causing scientists to drink more than they should, especially all those fired from the EPA; the sea levels will rise and you’ll be ready. Better stock up on hair gel. And don’t forget extra glasses. They say seeing is believing…or…in your case…believing is seeing. Bon Voyage.
