With something like that, you have to know this is a good one! It seems that Lutnick has been inflating statistics … by a LOT. Karma is a bitch, Lutnick, and he really felt that. He had to admit the actual numbers when he was replying under oath. We can bet he wished he hadn’t lied in the first place. But he’s part of Trumpworld, and everyone there lies. Is this ability part of what we would need to get hired? My compliments to Raw Story:

Last year, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick boasted that he had sold at least 1,000Trump Gold Card” visas at $1 million to $5 million each, but on Thursday, while under oath, was forced to admit that only one had been sold, sparking widespread ridicule from critics. “Every word out of Howard [Lutnick’s] mouth is a lie,” wrote political scientist and contributor to The Atlantic Norman Ornstein in a social media post on X. “What a despicable excuse for a human being.”

Yikes! That was a little more vicious than we’re used to seeing in comments. No fear. There are more coming. It’s just glorious that he was forced to say the actual number under oath. Apparently, Trump’s “Gold Cards” are a failure. This is not a surprise. It’s Trump. If at first you don’t succeed, fail, fail again. Trump is absolutely never going to give up on his grifts. Imagine him trying to do this when he gets placed in a nursing home because his mind is gone, but by gosh and golly, he’ll still try (in the few moments he’s lucid). He may be so used to having his phone that he’ll remember it. Maybe.

Lutnick was testifying Thursday before the House Appropriations Subcommittee, where he was pressed on other lies he’s told since joining the second Trump administration, including his claim that he had cut off all ties with Jeffrey Epstein in 2005, only to be revealed to have maintained contact with the disgraced financier through at least 2018.

Lutnick was also asked about the Trump Gold Card, a visa introduced by President Donald Trump that costs between $1 million and $5 million and grants its holders permanent resident status, as well as a pathway to full U.S. citizenship. In March, Lutnick claimed that 1,000 Trump Gold Cards were sold, and in June, claimed that around 70,000 people had signed up for the visa, per reporting from the Indian Express.

When pressed on the matter under oath, however, Lutnick provided a different number. “So, they have approved recently one person, and there are hundreds in the queue that they are going through the process,” Lutnick said, per Mediaite’s reporting.

Well, now, see Lutnick be embarrassed. Isn’t it nice? There’s a big, big difference between 1 and 1,000. A *really* big difference. And then have to admit you did things with Epstein until 2018, when he had said he cut contact after 2005? That’s another big number difference. Why did he lie in the first place? Trying to be Trump? Because that’s just hooey. *We* learned a long time ago that a lie would come back to bite us. Apparently, Lutnick never learned that. What goes around, comes around. There is no sympathy for this man.

While Lutnick did not reveal who the purchaser was, the only public figure reported to be in possession of a Trump Gold Card is musician Nicki Minaj, who said that she received the card for free. //// “So they are off by just 999,” wrote Fox Business contributor Gary Kaltbaum in a social media post on X.  //// “Lutnick…LIED,” wrote another, ex-GOP congressman Joe Walsh, in a social media post on X to his nearly 500,000 followers.

Indeed, he did. Now we know the truth. We also know to disregard anything he says, because it’s all about the lie. Should we still pay attention? Only if he’s under oath, it appears. He’s another one of Trump’s slobbering sycophants, so he tries to emulate Trump. He’s found out what a disaster that is. Good grief. Why can’t these people think for themselves?

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
