Dumdum Donnie has been skiing downhill, not just sliding these days, almost from the get-go. When you think it can’t get worse, it does. He has to be flipping out over this latest one. He keeps getting roasted. One of these days, he’ll be krispy crittered in the polls and *that* will be an interesting day. With gratitude to Raw Story:
While President Donald Trump has long been plagued by historically low approval ratings, a new poll shared exclusively with Zeteo revealed Monday that the president may very well have just scored the single-worst approval rating of his political career. Conducted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the new national poll revealed that “only 33% of Americans approve of the job he’s doing,” and that a staggering 62% disapproved, Zeteo reported.
The poll’s publication also came just days after Trump promoted the idea of running for an unconstitutional third term, the timing of which exposed “just how delusional our president really is,” Zeteo’s Andrew Perez wrote.
Heh. Delusional is an understatement. Down is an understatement. You have to wonder if he’s raging yet. We know how anything “bad” upsets him. It should be quite something to see how he’ll try to turn this around to the positive side. Will it be FAKE NEWS? That seems to be his go-to at the moment. Heh, he’s his own one-trick pony because he never lets go of anything. His mind, however, seems to be going on its own.
While a historic low for the president, Perez noted that Trump’s abysmal approval rating could dip even further were he to authorize a ground invasion of Iran, an idea he’s been entertaining for weeks. “Only 8% of Americans believe the US should send ground troops, and 67% disagree with the idea, per the UMass poll,” Perez wrote.
Self-identified MAGA supporters have largely been supportive of Trump’s war against Iran. However, the new poll shows that a ground invasion would flip that on its head, as “not even MAGA voters want their Mad King to put boots on the ground in Iran,” Perez wrote. “Among people who ‘very much’ identify with MAGA, 30% say the US should put boots on the ground in Iran, while 36% of MAGA devotees disagree,” Perez continued.
Please, please, please, let him *not* decimate our military forces with a ground campaign. I’ve spoken about it a lot, but he could be just crazy enough to do so. And it seems there’s no one in his ‘cabinet’ who could even try to talk him out of that insanity. Is Caine that cowed? He is the military “leader” in Washington. Or worse, will Trump not listen to *anyone* and follow his impulses?
Trump has reportedly been looking for a way out of the U.S. war against Iran, which he initiated late last month as the conflict continues to send oil prices soaring. He has repeatedly claimed to be engaged in peace talks with Tehran, but Iranian officials have refuted those claims and say they have ignored the Trump administration’s attempts to restart negotiations, citing two previous instances of U.S. strikes during ongoing talks.
Looks like he (we) are stuck between a super-sized rock and an impenetrable hard place. There’s no graceful way out. We will get to watch the polls dive downward, and pray for us to keep our troops where they need to be. That isn’t a ground war. Mercy, please, no ground war. Let Donnie be embarrassed even more, and actually pay attention to what the polls say. Keep the boots off the ground.
