Heh, Muskrat Does It Again!

Can’t check if the people are gone. Cost saving? Whazzat? Not enough to do or too much to do? How much are they worth? Worth the cost of loss? Worth the cost of *really* finding out what happened instead of conspiracy theories? Worth it at all? All good questions. Yes that is a real muskrat.

Soooo the Mango Mandarin fired or pushed out some of the relevant people that would be responsible for looking into the crash above the Potomac. Well done, sir! The FAA has no Senate confirmed leader after Muskrat forced out top administrator Michael Whitaker after the fines he had given SpaceX, which, from what I could find, were legitimate and well deserved. I’m hoping my information is correct. But to have a trained administrator get forced out for that reason is super, SUPER petty. The $600,000 is easy to pay for someone who has as much money as E-yawn does. It’s substantially less than he spent on getting DonOld elected, so really just a drop in the bucket, and not a particularly big one. He should take a look at what the fines were for and THEN debate if they were fair, not push someone out of a job because he’s petty.

Here we go: “The FAA space division is harassing SpaceX about nonsense that doesn’t affect safety while giving a free pass to Boeing even after NASA concluded that their spacecraft was not safe enough to bring back the astronauts,” Musk posted Sept. 17 on his X platform. Really? I would think the FAA is not partisan at all. They do their jobs which are looking into what happened and why and so forth. Trump also fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and all the members of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee the day after taking office. Wouldn’t it be better to get some partisans in place rather than kicking everyone to the curb *before* that so you have no talent in place for something like this? (Apparently not, since he didn’t think and *bam* gone the second day of his Presidency?) Well, we already have the answer, don’t we… oh, wait, I just found something: he said that “the Department of Homeland Security was eliminating the membership of all advisory committees to eliminate the purported misuse of resources and ensuring that DHS activities prioritize our national security.” Oh, good grief. That’s a really wordy sentence that means just about nothing. I wonder who taught it to him, or if he had a “cheat sheet” so they could make sure he said it right. That certainly seems to be above his level since he’s not exactly known for being smart.

There were panels of representatives from airlines, major unions and members of a group associated with the victims of the PanAm 103 bombing, and the vast majority of their recommendations for safety measures have been adopted over the years. But this is not good enough, so the Cheeto Prophet fired them all. And now here we have a plane crash that needs to be evaluated but there won’t be anyone to do it. So, we won’t know if it was preventable, if a part failed, if it was pilot error, all that. And now E-yawn and FAA changes. We’re at 13 days and counting down. The end of this can’t come soon enough.
