The military is supposed to be apolitical, and they try damn hard to stay that way. Now, Petey Boy is firing talent left and right. He has no damn idea of what he’s doing. He just keeps up his bullshizzle. He should be leaving the military alone, but he’s trying to remake it in *his* image. We did just fine with our military until Petey Boy got a bug up his arse and decided to do a revision and rework. Does he have his own “makeover” TV show now? This man is crazy and crazy political! From the New York Times (one more time) AlterNet:

Since President Donald Trump’s second term began in January, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired roughly two dozen top generals and admirals — often for political reasons. Approximately 20 current and former military leaders recently told the New York Times that Hegseth’s decisions were leading to the Pentagon having a dearth of generational experience that could take years to recover. Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who was a CIA officer before running for Congress, referred to Hegseth’s firings of three-star and four-star generals and admirals as a “purge” on her X account. “The places where we’ve looked at these kinds of things are places like China,” Slotkin said during a Senate hearing. “I used to work on Iraq. They would do the same thing.”

Oof. That’s not a good thing to hear. A purge. Well, at least he didn’t kill them. We can hope they had good pensions. But *wrongfully* firing people because of political reasons? These are career officers we’re talking about! They’ve worked their way up to where they are now. They’re just getting kicked to the curb.

Petey Boy is drunk on power. We can guess that he was unhappy (just like Trump) with the stoic faces while he was strutting about on stage. They were paying attention. That’s what you do when you want to make sure that nothing is missed in these things. They aren’t MAGA, you idiots! Their lives may depend on something being said!

Many top officers were fired due to their ties to General Mark Milley (Ret.), who was the United States’ top military leader between the final two years of Trump’s first term and through most of former President Joe Biden’s term. Milley told journalist Bob Woodward in 2024 that Trump wasfascist to the core” and “the most dangerous person to the country.” The Times reported that Hegseth had delayed or cancelled the promotions of “at least four senior military officers” because they previously worked for Milley.

What the holy hell. Yea, that’s political. Petey Boy doesn’t want anyone to question his power. He has practically no military experience, but he’s the “Secretary of War” *snort* and doesn’t want anyone to outshine him. Seems that Petey is ridiculously status-conscious. Could we throw him overboard? Because that’s about the amount of respect he hasn’t earned, but he thinks he has.

Yelling about the warrior ethos isn’t going to give him power. Wiping out DEI just makes him look like a male chauvinist PIG. But this is the man who *had to* have his wife with him for all the meetings and consideration for the position he has now. She and others were on a *different* Signal conversation. How’s that drinking problem, Petey Boy?

Several of the Times’ sources worried that Hegseth had politicized the military and thereby ruined its credibility among the civilian populace. Gen. Stanley McChrystal (Ret.) told the paper: “Once lost, the legitimacy of a military that reflects and represents all Americans will be difficult to recover.” “The message being sent to those younger soldiers and sailors and airmen and Marines is that politics can and should be part of your military service,” Rep. Jason Crow, (D-Colo.), who is a former Army Ranger, told the Times. “It’s a dangerous message.”

Hating that!!! Bringing politics into yet another place that should NOT BE political. Petey is turning our military into a crap shoot. Maybe someone will be political, or someone will work via merit. They’ll never know which commanding officer type they’re going to get. It should *all be* apolitical. Our military is all over the *world*. They don’t have the time to play politics. They have a different job to do, and it should stay that way! Go away, Pete Hegseth. Go. Away.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
