Yes, another Hegseth piece. It’s irresistible to talk about his insanity for the war, and how he’s in a job he shouldn’t be. There’s so much to discuss, it’s challenging not to do so. Then we get into the meat of the matter here today. People are not putting up with his BS-ing anymore. They want answers. They don’t want people dodging the questions. Don’t worry. This is not the same as my opener for the evening/night. Wait for it. I respect Raw Story:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s evasive and smirking answers to questions about his firing respected military officials at the Pentagon earned him a dressing down Wednesday from Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), a retired Air Force officer.
Under questioning about the Pentagon purge initiated by the former Fox News weekend host, who was tapped by Donald Trump to oversee the Pentagon, the Pennsylvania Democrat focused on the firing of Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George, which has also alarmed Republican lawmakers.
And us. That was so completely out of the blue that it makes no sense. What in the hail is Hegseth doing? Firing someone who was widely respected? You can’t make any sense out of that. Is this another person who could take over his job, and he’s afraid of, so he’s firing people with zero notice? General George has a stellar record and history. It seems that nearly *everyone* liked and respected him, even in other branches, or so it seems.
Hegseth initially repeatedly insisted he could not divulge why he fired George due to privacy concerns, which did not satisfy Houlahan.
He finally snapped at her questioning and replied, “Out of respect for these officers, we never talk about the nature of their removal, but every one of them, including myself, knows that they serve at the pleasure of the president.
Ultimately, out of respect to these officers, we don’t reveal it.
However, I will note it’s very difficult to change the culture of a department that has been destroyed by the wrong perspectives.”
“So General George destroyed the culture?” the retired veteran shot back.
‘There are many—” Hegseth began before stuttering and then continuing, “We’ve gotten rid of many general officers in this administration because we need new leadership.”
New leadership? Ha. No, *Hegseth* wants to change the culture to machismo and push both women and people of color aside. Remember all those officers he wouldn’t promote, even though they earned it? No, Petey Boy wants the stereotype of white males. He wants the tough guy image. And no, he did not lift over 300 pounds, no matter what was said. I think he cheated.
“You have no answer, you have no way of explaining why you fired one of the most decorated and remarkable men who has served this nation,” Houlahan accused.
“We needed new leadership,” Hegseth insisted with a smirk before adding, “That’s my answer.”
”So your answer is a very immature way of responding to my request,” the lawmaker tersely replied.
WHAM. And WHAM again! Let’s have a round of applause for Rep. Chrissy Houlahan! She deserves it because she finally found the word to properly describe Petey Boy. He’s doing all this immature crap and thinks he can get away with it because he leads the Pentagon. Wrong. Why do you think I call him Petey Boy? It’s because he’s an immature frat boy type and not a leader in the slightest. Yes, I know I’m juvenile. Yes, I know it’s insulting. But there are times when he doesn’t deserve any respect, like firing General George. We lost someone amazing when he did that, and we won’t be able to get him back. That’s painful. We needed to keep him, not boot him out the door. Hegseth did the wrong thing and won’t say why. We’ll probably never know the answer.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

somebody feels the need to give a speech.
sorry, that comment didn’t belong here.
Teehee, it’s okay 🙂
They want more compliant general officers! And we thought ice in Minnesota was bad….
