This is not good. He keeps upping the ante in the Iran war, and it’s a bad thing for our people, both at home and in the military. He’s making decisions seemingly on the spur of the moment, with no actual usable plan. It’s going to bite us, and he’s already started. We’re losing experienced military personnel left, right, and center. We need their input on this war. It’s already been a disaster, and Hegseth is making it worse. My compliments to Raw Story:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth alarmed two national security experts after making his latest “dangerous” decision. Last week, Hegseth fired Army Gen. Randy George, the Army’s chief of staff, over what the New York Times described as “hostility” between the Defense Secretary and senior military leaders. George’s firing happened at a time when the U.S. appears to be considering an escalation in the war in Iran, one that could result in the country putting boots on the ground.

What can we do to get this idea firmly OUT of their heads? How many people have told them it will be catastrophic to get into a land war? And why do they keep discussing it? Now, we’ve spoken about this multiple times, so no need to go further into it. But it’s worrying. It’s now every day that we wake up and wonder if they’ve done something stupid and started it. We’ll have a nightmare in daylight.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Randy Manner and Nancy Youssef expressed alarm over the decision during a new interview on “Alex Witt Reports” on Sunday. “It makes people less willing to give their candid military advice for fear that doing so could cost them their jobs, and the absence of a clear explanation for what’s happening,” Youssef said. “And that has an impact on the conduct of the war. Because if there’s ever a time that top military commanders and the president need candid advice, it is during a war, certainly one as complex as this one. And so that’s where I think we’ll feel it immediately.”

Say what needs to be said and lose your job at a disturbing time when you can see what the hazards are and have to speak up. Hegseth keeps punting experience out the door. It seems that he won’t listen to anything that is not part of his worldview on the war and refuses to see the dangers. No wonder they’re having a hard time getting him a reality check. This is so wrong.

Manner said Hegseth’s decision to fire George was “very dangerous” and could put U.S. troops in a bad situation. “That is an extremely dangerous situation to be in. Only two other leaders in the world have seen that, and that was Stalin and Hitler, who purged the best officers that they had before each of the wars they engaged in,” Manner said. “It’s very dangerous. It does not help at all in terms of giving confidence to the American fighting man.”

BOOM. There we go. It will take away confidence, not keep it. If the people with the most experience are fired, what’s left isn’t going to be much, and that’s dangerous, too. It would be a surprise if people were NOT screaming about this crap with Hegseth and Trump. They may not have the ability to say anything without repercussions. And they continue to follow orders. What is the story behind that? We’ll most likely never know. In the meantime, maybe we can come up with someone who can hammer some sense into Hegseth’s head.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
