Well, it’s been a bit since Pam was in the news, but she has returned. This is something a bit unusual in that what has happened is, what you could say, backwards. It’s not her usual AG nonsense. It’s … different. With no further ado, from Raw Story:

Former Department of Justice immigration judge Tania Nemer sued Attorney General Pam Bondi after the government said she was fired because President Donald Trump had the right to discriminate against her sex. In a lawsuit filed on Monday, Nemer said that Trump had ordered her fired just 15 days after taking office, even though she “received the highest possible performance rating.” Nemer, a dual citizen of Lebanon, ran for a judicial office in Ohio as a Democrat before seeking federal employment. She argued that Trump had discriminated against her based on sex, national origin, and past political activities.

Yes, different. Isn’t the usual story suing a male about discrimination? And this time, it isn’t. There aren’t high hopes for this to go anywhere, but it’s definitely good to see Pam get slapped. This is a brave thing to do, and unfortunately, Tania may disappear. But her story is out there. This is more proof of ETTD, as if we needed it. What happened to getting a job on merit instead of on looks (see: Trump’s cabinet)? There’s still that attitude for us to overcome, but we’re making progress. But this? It gets better.

After filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Nemer was told “that Title VII does not constrain discriminatory dismissal against immigration judges because the statute purportedly conflicts with the Article II removal power,” according to the lawsuit. “Nothing in the Constitution gives the executive branch the right to discriminate,” the lawsuit continues, arguing that the Trump administration violated both the First Amendment of the Constitution and federal discrimination laws.  “According to the final agency decision, the President may now fire female federal workers like Ms. Nemer—because of their sex—and the law would have nothing to say about it.”

Yikes! So the president can fire anyone for any reason? Why can’t he fire the idiots in his cabinet (see: Petey Boy Hegseth and Ka$h Patel)? But no, that would mean he’d have to admit he made some Very Bad Choices, so we know that won’t happen. This is quite the load of crap. Anyone, any time. Oh, please. The man is erratic enough as it is. He forgets things half an hour after he says them, let alone the next day or week or month. It’s  … irksome.

If accepted, this theory would permit the government to fire federal workers based on race, sex, religion, national origin, or political affiliation with impunity. Nemer’s lawsuit sought relief in the form of a declaration that the government violated her rights, reinstatement, rescission of her termination, and an award of front pay and back pay.

Unfortunately, we can only hope that the suit gets a win for her, and doesn’t end up going to Trump’s SCOTUS because we all know what will happen there. A win would be good for all the ladies, both here and out there. Heck, a win against Trump and his people would be a bonus! Fingers crossed, everyone. Fingers crossed.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
