John Fetterman knows a thing or two about journalists sanctimoniously harping on their “beliefs”, and furiously working to create a self-fulfilling prophecy. He had a stroke and while the effects didn’t diminish his ability to think and reason they did impact his ability to communicate. However, his prognosis was good so even before he was back to normal he engaged and sure enough a journalist did a hatchet job interview. Many Democrats (including me) have found themselves at odds with Fetterman now and then but he IS one of us and he’s clearly pissed about the media’s increasing hype about President Biden having “lost it” or however some characterize it.
In an article in Newsweek Fetterman takes the media to task. In the blunt terms he’s known for. Yesterday on Twitter/X he included a screenshot of a recent NYT story that talked about President Biden stumbling over words as he works to steady his re-election campaign. The NYT of course isn’t the only outlet “reporting” this way but Fetterman decided yesterday to call bullsh!t on such talk:
Fetterman slammed the reporting from the New York Times and said “the twice-impeached, consumed by revenge, 34 felony convictions, serial liar, vowed to be a dictator, Project 2025 Trump …” referring to former president Donald Trump.
“Yet, the media still obsesses on smearing a good President and decent man. If anyone lost their way, it’s The New York Times,” Fetterman wrote.
I say it’s fair to question why Trump’s personal, business, legal and Presidential failings aren’t part of a daily drumbeat of coverage from journalism outlets. Pick an issue/topic and it can and should be any part of any reporting on Trump. Had that been the case all along there would have been no President Trump, nor his disastrous Presidency or no candidate Trump right now. His failings are “yuge” and often spectacular. So let’s take a look at Joe Biden.
President Biden has a lifetime of service to this country. He’s had a stumble here and there but his career in politics and accomplishments outshine most. He’s also someone who’s suffered from a lifelong stutter and EVERYONE in the news business knows it. His mind has always worked faster than his mouth and it’s led to regular verbal gaffes. But they know, they know Biden knows what the hell he’s talking about. They know he knows more than most people (including them) about most issues, and has wider and deeper personal connections/relationships with others in leadership. Both in U.S. politics and around the world.
Still, butt-hurt ego journalists have enjoyed taking cheap shots at him over the years. Many have been made to look bad because Biden accomplished things they said he couldn’t get done. And over time I’m thinking grudges have built up and by god they are out for some payback. A sick, vile attempt to get back at President Biden, sitting there on camera or at their keyboard like they are soooooo much more knowledgeable and capable. BETTER than Biden. It makes me sick. It also makes me angry. It looks like Fetterman feels the same way and he’s just said so. Responding to Democrats who’ve been speaking out critically, and in particular a post from Steve Schmidt (lest we forget a former Republican and the guy who gave us Sara Palin and then abandoned the Lincoln Project) Fetterman had this to say this morning:
“I refuse to join the Democratic vultures on Biden’s shoulder after the debate,” the senator wrote. “No one knows more than me that a rough debate is not the sum total of the person and their record.”
I keep thinking about all that was going on during the month(s) before the debate that President Biden was doing. Dealing with world leaders including overseas travel to meetings. Tough personal diplomacy with Israel and Hamas and via his Secretary of State he engages with daily. Working with NATO and people over here to get the process of getting Ukraine back to the point it was before Trump/the GOP started cutting off aid. Getting results. All the while dealing with a family issue – his son’s legal problems and fighting every instinct in his being to NOT abuse his power and intervene with the DOJ. Like you know damn well Trump would have done for HIS evil spawn.
Yes, Biden is 81 and doesn’t move with the same spryness he once did. Yes, he had a really crappy debate. But he still knows more about getting the job of President done than anyone else, politician or journalist. He’s got the personal connections with foreign leaders so badly needed at such a difficult time.
We need more John Fetterman and less of the the hand-wringing or stab-in-the-back crap coming from too many Democrats.
It’s not really clear what these dufus pea-brains are aiming for, what on earth would be a clean and neat swing to a different strike force against Trump’s mindless dream world of absolute Hitler-like powers to just kill anyone who stands in the way of his KINGSHIP?
There are, a few wizards in Congress, truly working against the GOP’s stupid charges and committees of infantile processes they use INSTEAD of working across the Congress to shape solutions to our financial and security questions, the ones that are for EVERYONE …
A few of them MIGHT actually make a good president, BUT, knowing how the Democrats work, they want to wait for the PERFECT choice to be selected and placed in a run against the fast food lizard, SO, with the time running short, why not get on board with the Biden crew and vote like your life depends on it? … Because it obviously does, every day Trump displays more threats to our Country, Planet and the Citizens, ignoring any requirements set out in the Constitution …
Trump should go to jail for 4 years, a number available to his Judge, because of his blatant destruction of his GAG orders, his clear and voiced threat to the public as well as himself, a position that could flatten his lying fits and rants and muzzle his conduit to his followers until AFTER Biden takes his future, (and ours), to the next level of technology, better health and responsible treatment of our world, a tiny planet in an unending Universe …
It’s the only one we have, the only one our generation can choose to protect, or blow up with Trump as a mindless button pusher …
Here are a few simple observations:
1. Trump has a cult following, but they are a minority Everybody else hates his guts. Including many Republicans and most independents. Trump only wins by bluffing and bullying. He is ALWAYS full of shit. Every word out of his mouth is a lie. I mean if Democrats doesn’t know that by now, God help them. So DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE. Because these concern-trolling or chicken-livered Democrats are pushing TRUMP’s line about Biden. And if you don’t think the Russian, Saudi, and God knows what else bots are having a field day right now, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in.
2. If, for the sake of argument, the “abandon Biden” people should succeed in badgering him so much as to prevail, what would they achieve? The one thing guaranteed is that they would strengthen Trump immensely if only for the simple reason that he would have forced the Democratic Party to do his bidding. I mean, Putin can’t force the Ukrainians to do what he wants, lobbing tons of shit at them every day, but Trump can get he Democrats to do his bidding by by sheer bullshit?
3. Trump is a TERRIBLE candidate. I mean has there ever been anybody close? I’m not going to go through the litany of charges against him and his record of being a total douche bag, I’m sure you can do that yourself.
4. If you’re really so worried about Biden and think Harris would be better, well I don’t believe enough voters agree with you. But one thing I do know for sure. if this is what’s eating you, then you should ELECT Biden — then, if anything should happen to him God forbid, Harris will take over anyway because she already would be in office. So why is this even an issue?

I have several friends in other countries and they keep asking me how we could let a creature like tRump in the oval office. They are terrified of tRump getting back into office. And they all to a person think that Biden is doing a great job. And I agree with them, he is doing a great job.
