Fanone’s Opinion Of Disinformation

If you’ve caught any of the congressional hearing of Jack Smith today, it’s enough to make George Orwell cringe. 1984 was never intended to be a playbook for the year 2026, but in point of fact that seems to be how it’s playing out. One person who is bluntly dealing with what he hears is Michael Fanone, never one to hold back, and certainly not today.

Nehls: I would like to quickly address the police officers from January 6th. And I can tell you that the fault does not lie with Donald Trump. It lies with the US capitol leadership team.

Whitewashing the insurrection is nothing new. About the only new spin on that was last week when CBS News was doing it. That was a new low. And it is pure Joseph Goebbels, “Tell a lie, a big lie, a thousand times and it becomes the truth.” Goebbels’ other gem was, “Accuse the other side of that which you yourself are doing.”

Fanone is taking some heat for his expletive but it was the most honest statement made in that room at the time. Good for him for holding his ground. As to the Republicans who are bald faced liars, the last time Capitol Hill saw mendacity of this level, Joseph McCarthy was doing his red scare number. And no, they have no shame, and no common decency either.
