“She isn’t even my type!”

The “Donald Trump Defense; Too Ugly to Rape.”

The above was one of the worst abominations in the entire sordid story regarding Trump’s alleged rape of E. Jean Carroll. Given that rape isn’t about “sex,” it’s about dominance and violence, no one thought about it much other than it being a particularly abhorrent thing Trump said during his presidency.

It turns out that not only was it abhorrent, but it was also a lie. Assuming that Trump found Marla Maples attractive enough to cheat on Ivana Trump and then marry Maples, then he had to see E. Jean Carroll as attractive. After all, according to the Washington Post, Trump mistook a picture of E. Jean Carroll for his then-wife Maples and a deposition last year.

Donald Trump mistook his sexual assault accuser E. Jean Carroll for his ex-wife Marla Maples when shown a photograph from the 1990s in a deposition at Mar-a-Lago last year, potentially undermining one of the common defenses he has used to deny an attack.

Trump, who is being sued by Carroll, an author and advice columnist, for defamation and sexual assault stemming from the same alleged encounter, has repeatedly said Carroll is not his “type,” suggesting an assault could not have occurred because he would not have pursued her romantically.

And the entirety of sane Americans breathlessly says, “rape isn’t about pursuing someone romantically.”

“That’s Marla, yeah. That’s my wife,” Trump said under examination from Carroll’s lawyer Roberta Kaplan, in a new selection of excerpts from the deposition that was unsealed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

There are two takeaways from Trump’s answers in the deposition. First, obviously, the two women looked very much alike, and so Trump was simply grasping for anything to defend himself (In a Trump way). Second, it brings up whether Trump’s mind is slipping further still.

I mention the second one with a great deal of caution. I went through an entire Trump term reading tweets in which people would claim that Trump was experiencing dementia and would fall quickly. I saw videos of very bad moments. But now, having seen the Republicans do the same thing to Biden, one should be cautious. So, I’m not saying it’s evidence that Trump is slipping. I am saying that it could be that Trump is slipping in cognition.

Could anyone fool you with a picture of an ex-wife, or girlfriend, from your 30s?

  1. Come on. Let’s give the ‘pussy grabber’ some credit. To effectively grab a ‘pussy’ that is moving and attached to a woman, he must be focused. Faces? Not on the menu. He’s supposedly a golfer. Golfers are used to looking down.

  2. Jason, we aren’t “having seen the Republicans do the [claim dementia] to Biden.” Grammatically, that implies they just started doing it recently. They were pulling that all through the 2020 election campaign. And they’ve been doing it ever since. It’s not new.

Trump, on the other hand, didn’t start facing the “dementia” accusation until the middle of his term. We all knew he was a LYING SON OF A BITCH from 2016 but I don’t recall any suggestion that he was “losing it” mentally until much later (even then, it was mainly after Trump’s self-prescribed “mental fitness” test which we all saw as proving absolutely nothing because it wasn’t done under properly supervised conditions). But Biden? The GOP (and especially the MAGA branch) was claiming Biden was mentally unfit during the campaign and they called for him to take some sort of test to determine his mental fitness (similar to the one that Trump took).

      • Jason, you may have phrased your sentence poorly when you wrote, “But now, having seen the Republicans do the same thing to Biden, one should be cautious,” but Joseph is grammatically wrong when he says that “having seen” implies that what we have seen started happening only recently. If I write, “Now, having seen my father beat my little brother, I am worried that my father will beat my son,” I am not grammatically implying that it was recently that my father was beating or started beating my little brother. I could easily be referring to beatings that I saw take place decades ago.

If you had written, “But, having now seen the Republicans do the same thing to Biden, one should be cautious,” Joseph would be correct in saying that you were implying that, “they just started doing it recently.”

However, in your actual sentence, “now” did not modify “having seen.” It modified “should be” in the clause, “one should be cautious. I referred to the possible misphrasing of your sentence. The use and placement of “now” is problematic. For clarity, I think you should not have used it at all. If you had just moved “now” so the clause read, “one should now be cautious,” nobody could think that you were implying that the Republican behavior started recently. However. the reader might think that you were saying that we should be cautious now, but we had not needed to be cautious earlier. Indeed, this was what had concerned me about your sentence, that you were perhaps suggesting that you had changed your opinion about whether we should be cautious. I think that we should have always been cautious about believing that Trump “was experiencing dementia.”

I apologize for having presented my analysis at such length.

    • “Having seen” has nothing to do with recent behavior or frequency, it simply indicates that we have seen it happen.

Having read your accusation that the writer fumbled grammatically, I felt compelled to reply.

  3. Trump still sees himself as a 20-something Adonis and therefore couldn’t possibly find a woman in her 70’s (?) attractive. It never occurred to him that her appearance may have changed over the years. I think he figured he made a persuasive argument stating that.
Also, I don’t believe he was lying when he misidentified the photo, the two women are similar in appearance. I don’t understand what the point was of asking him to identify the photo, though introducing it into evidence to knock down his “not my type” argument was a savvy move.

  4. We already know Trump raped one of his ex-wives, Trophy wife #1 Ivana. Given the striking resemblance between Carroll and Trophy wife #2 Maples back when Trump raped Carroll it puts things in a different light, at least for me. Trump was horny and wanted to grab a quickie after chatting with Carroll and when she wouldn’t go along with his idea for a little “naughty, semi-public sex” he took what he wanted by force. THAT is entirely consistent with everything we know about Trump, and the fact that rape is a crime of dominance. Those who commit rape and sexual assault, and even non-physical sexual battery such as harrassment COUNT on their victims never speaking up. And for rich and/or powerful people it’s a good bet on their part because they have the means and the meanness to “slut-shame” the hell out of victims and that the victims KNOW it. Trump himself has used this to his advantage countless times in his life, and as we know even bragged about it.

To him Carroll was a real life blowup fuck-doll version of a woman who wouldn’t fuck him anymore for him to USE and then discard. I know how crude that reads but that’s what this was all about.

Now, for you conservatives that scan this site (I know you’re out there because sometimes you write/post comments) that are offended, I DON’T CARE! Go on Truth Social and tell the flaming orange human shaped rectum (since you might not know medical terms, it’s the very end of the colon, that little bit right before the ASSHOLE) that I’ve “slandered” him. See if I give a shit. (Pun intended) Let the sumbitch SUE me. (Fat chance but even if he does so what?) Trump is nothing but a festering pustule on a tiny solid bit of “Santorum” (Google it) and the only reason I don’t wish he’d keel over and die right fucking now is that I want to see him rotting in prison. Lonely, whining and crying as he lays there on that thin vinyl covered mattress in his cheap as orange polyester jumpsuit, wearing cheap cotton skivvies and feeling that scratchy ass blanket on the exposed parts of his blotchy skin. Sharting his drawers as his stomach rumbles from prison food. I WANT his last breath of air he takes in to be nasty smelling prison air from inside his cell.

  5. Trump doesn’t view woman as people, just vaginas on feet. I can guarantee you Melanie has had Botox and a face lift. Once the wife stops looking like she is in her late 30s,he dumps them.
Amusingly on my 53d birthday I went to Goth night at a club. The head bouncer, who remembered us from a prior night, made 200-300bucks from the other guys on my age. They thought I was under 40. No surgery, no Botox, just good bone structure and staying out of the son. In my late 30s, I was carded every time I went to a bar. And on my 50th birthday I had a,Marine walk into.z column watching me walk past him (husband saw it, and nearly died laughing; I was caught up.with maneuvering the mommies, and kids while wearing 5inch heels). We don’t burn into wizened mummies at 59.
