Tasteless is very much like stupid, tasteless is as tasteless does. Apparently Donald Trump Jr. exhausted all the ways that he could prove how stupid he is and now he’s trying to prove that he has zero taste, empathy, compassion or class. The tee-shirt that you see, that Junior is selling for $27.99 on his website, proves all of the above conclusively.
And it makes perfect sense that Junior would take this cheap shot. Alec Baldwin won an Emmy for his stellar performance as Junior’s addlepated father and so that makes him an enemy. Fair enough. The facts of the shooting on the set of “Rust” are very clear. Baldwin was handed a gun by a crew member and told it was a “cold” gun. He took the guy’s word for it. If Baldwin made any mistake, that was it, right there. He took the word of a colleague and unfortunately that led to tragedy.
There was some gross negligence on the set, yes, but so far it looks to fall totally in the lap of the set armorer. It was the set armorer’s job, not the actor’s, to determine gun safety.
But this grifting perfectly illustrates the Trump mentality. Take a cheap shot at somebody on the other side of the cultural divide and make a buck off of it. Perfect. Especially the part about making a buck.
Maybe we can’t blame Junior. After all, good blow doesn’t come cheap, so he’s got to get some kind of a side hustle, right? And who knows what’s going to happen with any of these lawsuits where his name keeps coming up, that could get expensive, too.
The good part about Junior doing this, if there is any good part, is that it is so transparently tasteless and greedy. Or maybe he thinks it’s funny. That’s a possibility, too.
I want to see how many he sells. The only thing sicker than making one of these is wearing it.
And exactly how many people did Junior’s daddy kill with his inaction on COVID?
Maybe someone should sell a T-shirt with Junior’s and Eric’s pictures on them with a tagline of “We’re proud hunters! Um, it still counts as ‘hunting’ if they’re in a cage, right?” (It would probably work best with front and back pictures. On the front, Junior and Eric are posed with their hunting gear and the “We’re proud hunters” tag. On the back, you have Junior and Eric in a pose of them talking to each other with the “It still counts” tag underneath.)
Answer Joe: 720,000 & counting. Maybe the talking beard should print a t-shirt bragging about what a strongman daddy is. Something like: ALEC BALDWIN ONE DEATH. MY DAD 720,000+ DEATHS. WE’RE #1. WE OWN THE LIBS!!!

I can’t say I’m surprised about this. Worse, there’s going to be a market for these damned things. What I’m wondering about it something that’s been in the back of my mind for a couple of days now that’s related to the kinds of “people” who would buy, or at least think about buying such a t-shirt. Dumbass faux “Billy bad ass tough guys/gals” who, being on some in the boonies film set were bored. And started bragging on what THEY would do in a real life version of the movie being filmed – how THEY would be “kicking ass and taking names” and so forth. It’s a short step from THAT to bragging on how good a shot one is, and challenges being made to “prove it”, contests being held and so one. With working guns available one wouldn’t have to sneak in a gun from one’s car. A pocketful or two of live ammo would do.
Given there had been other accidental discharges prior to this fatal incident I have to believe some “shooting contests” with live ammo were going on. And it’s the refusal of producers to put a stop to them (by hiring qualified union workers who would strictly follow proper protocols for firearms of ANY type (real, fake) on a set. ALL firearms on the set would have been properly stored, and checked. But instead you had non-union people including hasty replacements for experienced crew that walked off the job in disgust.
I for one find it all too easy to imagine some of the goobers grabbing up some of the real weapons and loading live rounds into them to do a little shooting “for fun” – and when someone responsible headed their way to find out WTF was going on to scatter. And in their hurry to avoid getting caught not making sure any/all live rounds in the guns they were PLAYING with (that they never should have had access to in the first fucking place) were emptied out before dumping the guns back where they’d gotten them.
When you think about it that way it’s easy to imagine how this could have happened. Assholes trying to play Rambo on a film set during break time. Almost getting caught doing so and panicking. And a lack of proper “check and DOUBLE-CHECK” mentality on the part of those responsible for ensuring guns the actors would handle. I think Baldwin won’t be criminally charged but as a co-producer he’s sure as hell on the hook for the decisions that were made regarding crew and union vs. non-union help. But keep an eye out because I think it’s possible that we’ll wind up with criminal negligent homicide charges against one or more people before this is over.

Can anyone just use someone’s name on an item and make money from it? Sure Baldwin is famous but this still seems strange to me. Or maybe you have to copyright your own name to forbid such things.
Baldwin IS directly responsible! The first rule of gun safety is that when you are handed a gun, you check to see if it is loaded, and DO NOT POINT IT AT ANYONE! If Baldwin (or any other actor) is handed a gun but not allowed to check it, the person that hands it to them should show that actor that the gun is unloaded or loaded with blanks. The actor should NEVER accept the gun from anyone who is NOT the person responsible for the condition of the weapon, and should NEVER take anyone’s word about the condition of the weapon without the condition at the very least being verified right there in front of them! All guns (prop or not) should be kept in a locked gun safe when not in use! There are NO EXCEPTIONS to any of the above! EVER!! Oh, and people have been injured by blank rounds.
I’m pretty sure Baldwin is feeling punk about the whole situation now and he WILL find out the who/what/when of this disaster, his family is surely saddened by all that happened and all the normal gun rules most of us follow are now too late, and the comments by, {delliott}, above, may actually be the case as the Pros would follow a defined procedure …
The saddest part is that the simple process of verification of the safety of the gun would only take a moment and the fatally injured girl was a younger vibrant family person with her whole life ahead of her …
The stinking Trump family needs to go to prison without any doubt, Sr./Jr./ and the daughter/son-in-law team of non-capable of filling out forms for classified qualifications …

It’s hard to think straight with that much blow up ur nose. Even sadder, intervention won’t work because his family needs to love him & rally around to force him into treatment. There’s more water in Death Valley than love in this family. I guess the talking beard is doomed, especially given the space in his head.
