Should we have expected this? Or is it something completely new? Either way, the person who needs to pay attention isn’t doing so, and it’s going to cause him problems in about 7 months. There are hot-tempered, had enough of the bullshizzle, tired of the blindness this person has. There is an uprising, and the only surprise is why it took so long. My regards to Raw Story:
A furious GOP Senate aide fired off at Trump for ignoring the issues that matter ahead of the midterms, the conservative Daily Mail reported Friday. “People are p— the f— off that prices are too high and things are too expensive,” a senior GOP aide told the Mail. “I’m just not sure the president really cares or if he’s really in tune with what’s going on on Capitol Hill.”
Probably both. He doesn’t care, so he’s not in tune. The Iran War, the UFC for *his* birthday, no matter the 250 years for America. That UFC fight is pissing off people *everywhere*, and having it on the White House lawn is even worse. It will probably take a year before the lawn is back to itself. Let’s just say that there’s knowledge here on the lawn part. He isn’t doing a thing for America’s birthday now, not after all the acts pulled out of playing.
“Between the Pulte nominations and anti-weaponization fund, the White House has definitely gone rogue and instead pushed priorities without talking to Congressional leadership,” another senior GOP aide told The Daily Mail, bringing up that Trump hasn’t even seemed to consult Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD). “We’re begging the White House to focus on issues to help Republicans in the midterms,” the second aide continued. “But it feels like it’s falling on deaf ears.”
It probably is. Trump is focused on his things, not the country’s things. Did you know that the Reflecting Pool is already turning green? They clean it out, and it comes right back. So much for that blue reflection. Trump is trying to keep his name on everything. He lost an 11th-hour appeal on the Kennedy Center, and his name is gone. He’s going to be licking his wounds and plotting something until after the UFC fights. Or, he’s going to be raging about anything and everything, which will make a bigger mess if he threatens Iran again.
A third senior GOP congressional aide agreed, saying, “The president’s fiery public demands of Congress often seem disconnected from his staff’s more deferential posture when dealing with GOP leadership and moderates,” The Mail reported. The congressional aide also complained about “wild swings in who gets thrown under the bus week by week,” according to the Mail. A senior GOP House aide put some of the blame on Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for hurting House Republicans by defending Trump.
“Speaker Johnson has relied so heavily on Trump to lead the conference and clean up his messes that it’s no wonder Trump has taken more of an active role in dictating what he wants to see from Congress,” the House aide told The Mail. “Is it good for the institution? Not really, but Speaker Johnson is the one to blame for weakening the speakership.” A fourth Senate GOP aide concluded, “If our coalition falls apart, we will not be able to advance the president’s priorities.”
Yup. The coalition is falling apart. Trump is primarying Congresspeople that he doesn’t like when his choice is much worse. After all, Trump can do something to anyone in his Revenge Tour™. Heh, or at least he thinks he can. Some of those cases didn’t come out the way he planned, now, did they? He apparently doesn’t care about midterms. He’s too busy thinking about himself and him only. And Iran, part of the time, but that counts as himself. The GOP will have to bootstrap itself and hope for the best, which does not include all the money they’ll have to spend on Ken Paxton in Texas.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
