The great screenwriter in the sky has thrown a hell of a plot twist into the GOP primary and that is the introduction of Chris Christie as a candidate. Christie is in the position now of repentant sinner. Yes, he was of the Cult of Trump, but like Paul of Tarsus, who was struck by the light on the road to Damascus, he has now seen the truth and he has turned from Trump.
Christie was one of the speakers at the Faith and Freedom Coalition. Yes, he did get booed when he mentioned Trump in a less than exemplary light, but he handled it. And then here are his remarks outside after the event.

All I want for Xmas, this year or any, is to see Christie on the debate stage with Trump. That would be epic. Whether it happens or not is up to the RNC. All the other candidates are in favor of it, but of course Trump is not. Whether he gets overruled is the big question.
Let’s hope two things, make that three, happen: 1. Christie can pull enough donors to stay in the race; 2. Christie can pull enough of a percentage to get allowed on a debate stage; 3. Ronna McDaniel will actually let this be a normal year and let the candidates debate.
If all those conditions are met, Christie could land some real knock out punches on Trump. How I hope it comes to pass. That would be an evening of television for the ages. My instinct is that Trump will go to all lengths to make sure that night never happens.
In a debate between Christie and trump, Christie would be going up against an unarmed opponent. Not trump bringing a knife to a gun fight, but completely and utterly unarmed.
Christie has been a worm for Trump in a lot of crunches on, “This Week With George”, over the past years … Now, he can release his Kraken of information that will singe every hair left on, “The Donald”, who, as a stupid, egotistical ass hole with NO common sense, care for anyone else but himself, who belittles women, lies always and is STILL dangerous to our Democracy and the USA, in general …
Christy DOES have a way with words that would flatten Trump to the blithering, drooling, fool he is … He is beginning to look like a balloon that was inflated fully, then all the air was let out …
I do hope he does not croak or falter before the Judge/s can unload on him in all his up coming court sessions, he needs to suffer the slings and arrows of prison time, plus every last humiliating moment being rubbed in by the pundits …

He’s reportedly gaining traction and is pulling in some big donors, which should be yet another thing to keep trump up at night. Christie is a devastating debater and would do to trump what he did to Marco Rubio, absolutely crush him. But the truth is, the MAGA core doesn’t care about debates and the bête orange could skip them without putting a big dent in his cultist following. The question is how big that following is and how many moderates are left in the GOP. If Christie shed some weight and began to look presidential, he might just pull it off.
Mr. “I alone can fix it” will never debate Christie. He may be ignorant, but he has a feral instinct for self-preservation and allowing someone to humiliate him is not on his bucket list. Christie is polling high enough now and lots of Never Trumpers are sending him $1 hoping he’ll hit the total number of donors that he will qualify for the debates. It actually may make it easier for Christie to defenestrate TFG if he’s a no-show – charges of chicken, running down the list of court cases, civil and criminal.
He didn’t have a rich daddy funding him and bailing him out of his f**kups like Trump did yet Christie rose to positions both in DOJ (as a U.S. Attorney in NY) and as Gov. a a fairly significant state. He bullied a lot of people in the process. When it comes to bullying and cutting people’s guts out and handing their entrails to them Christie’s the one who could teach Trump lessons. He’s smarter and faster on his feet than Trump. He’s also meaner.
Most importantly, he’s got scores to settle with Trump. Remember, Trump actually wanted him as VP and Jared stepped in and got Trump to drop the idea. Jared had a score of his own to settle because it was Christie who led the federal prosecution of his dad! Jared got his way and Christie’s star dimmed in Trump World. But it started shining again when Trump picked him to head up the transition (assuming there was one) Christie by all accounts did a great job and had a solid plan ready to go. It would have led to bigger and better things for him. But once again Jared intervened and the plan literally got tossed in the dumpster. Any chance of a “awful but maybe not as bad as we’d feared” Trump Presidency went in the dumpster with it.
Trump was too weak and wimpy to stand up to his son-in-law. You don’t think Christie has an axe to grind about that? And isn’t ready, eager even to hammer Trump about HIS weakness and the messes he led Jared create, starting with that disastrous transition. Or maybe non-transition would be a better description. So many of the mistakes and terrible appointments (including Mike Flynn) wouldn’t have happened if Christie had been in the room bullying Jared – something Trump would have enjoyed immensely.
Trump may have few skills but he’s had a strong survival instinct and managed to usually barely dodge mortal danger in his life. And sometimes, in those dark hours in the middle of the night he has moments of clarity. Lately, hearing just the handful of shots across the bow Christie has sent at the Trumptanic Trump knows he’d be finished if he shared a debate stage with Christie. Given Christie’s unelectability I suspect the other candidates would mostly stand back and let Christie do what they don’t have the guts to do. Once Trump is crushed they’ll have plenty of time to take Christie down!
Anyway, Trump I truly believe knows this. And that’s why he will never consent to sharing a debate stage with Christie if he’s still dominant in the polls.
More believable to me is that Princess Ivanka whispered in daddy’s ear to eliminate Christy. She did it for Jared who is too wimpy and whiny to have done it himself. Jared is a snake and hopefully the investigation into his billions from the Saudi’s will put him away like his father was. All crooks and grifters!
