This is the voice of an elected official in a neighboring country, one of our allies. He is speaking for a lot of people. Donald Trump is a ludicrous buffoon. And his MAGA cult may think he’s so comical and so cool, “he tells it like it is.” No, he does not tell it like it is. He tells a schoolyard bully’s version of how things should be but aren’t. Trump is tolerated by decent people. He does not impress them, he does not cause them to feel fear. No, if anything they feel contempt and pity. This Member of Parliament in Canada certainly does.

The rest of the world and half of this country can’t stand Trump. And that includes dictators. They’re happy to use him for their own purposes, there’s no question about that. He’s a useful idiot in so many ways.

This is just the beginning. People all over the world will be speaking their minds about Trump. Trump is an embarrassment to America. He will continue to disrespect other countries, other peoples, and they will let their displeasure be known.
America is losing stature in the world and just wait until the buffoon is in office. Right now it’s the Trump honeymoon, the interrneggnum, yet look at the hositility level towards Trump — which he has created. And bear in mind: if it’s this bad now, wait until this clown is actually back in office.
The magats bang on about him increasing respect for America abroad but the opposite is true. The rest of the world sees him as a bloviating buffoon, a comic clown, a lying fraudster fit to be laughed at. The only reason he gets any respect at all is because of the power he can wield as US President and the fear of his erratic, capricious, ill-considered decision’s power to harm.
But they all know that some obsequious flattery applied judicially can bend him round their little finger.
He is, in fact, the most pathetic world leader anyone has seen since he was last in, and the world is aghast at the sheer lunatic stupidity of the American electorate.
The world is indeed aghast at our sheer, lunatic stupidity. And half of America is aghast at the same thing. This is so much worse than 2016. May a merciful God help us get through this. Although I wonder if He will. The reason I say that is because God’s gift to us is free will. We can use it to build something wonderful or we can use it to tear things down. It’s up to us.
That’s what keeps me awake at night.
People have said to me, “If there is a God, why does He allow such and such?” And I say, “Free will.” And right now the free will of an extra sliver of the American people has returned this unspeakable buffoon to power.

I love Charlie. A genuinely good guy who knows how to disagree without ever being disagreeable. Best I can compare him to Stateside is an always APPROPRIATELY-dressed John Fetterman (Fetterman without the schtick) – he knows what he believes and he is not shy about telling you why he believes he is right. He’s also really smart and capable of listening and being persuaded if you present arguments that logically and factually show how you may be more correct. Like I said, a very good guy and an asset to Canada.
