CNN just broke the news that a federal judge has ruled in favor of AT&T over Trump’s Justice Department regarding AT&T’s proposed merger with Time-Warner. In a 30 minute reading of his ruling the judge decided that the government failed to meet their burden of proof of diminished competition in all three of their objections to the merger.
This is a stinging rebuke to Trump, who had undertaken to scuttle the deal as punishment for what he felt was unfair coverage from CNN, whose parent company is Time-Warner.
