Just this morning one of the political pundits on Twitter asked the rhetorical question, “Will the GOP claim that there was cheating during today’s election?” As if that’s even a question. Yes to cheating allegations and that’s after the bomb threats issue. This is the new normal and particularly in a scenario where the GOP is set to lose, as has been predicted in several of today’s key races. Can you imagine the chaos next November if there’s nationwide bomb threats?
Bomb threats are being called into polling places around New Jersey as people go to the polls, according to reports.
News12 reported Tuesday morning, as voting began, that threats are prompting polling locations to be moved or closed temporarily, reducing access.
The threats were called into Bergen County, Essex County, Mercer County, Middlesex County, Monmouth County, Ocean County and Passaic County, the report listed.
At least two school sites were forced to shut down after threats, Patterson Mayor Andre Sayegh said. Newark Public Safety officials said that phishing emails sent included threats, but at least one threat was found to be “unfounded.”
Hackensack police sent a K-9 through for a sweep just before 6 a.m. when a threat was emailed. That site was also cleared.
“Earlier today, bomb threats were made to several polling sites. Law enforcement has determined there are no credible threats at this time. We are doing everything in our power to protect voters and poll workers and encourage every eligible voter to exercise their right to vote,” said Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way on X.
The report also said that a bomb threat at Somerville Elementary School resulted in the closure of the entire Ridgewood public school district for the day. The buildings remain open for voting, however.
Threats to Avanel Middle School prompted “an active law enforcement investigation,” and the Middlesex County voting location had to be moved to Woodbine Avenue Elementary School.
“A polling site in Lake Como was also moved due to a similar threat,” said the report.
Fordham University School of Law Professor John Pfaff pointed out that Patterson, New Jersey, has approximately 65% Hispanic and 20% Black community.
Rick Wilson made the comment this morning that “these last nine months have been the final, pitiful proof that there is no “good” Republican Party waiting to reemerge when the spell is broken. The spell is the party.”
This is true. And make no mistake, post-Trump plans are being made. GOP billionaires are meeting in a small town in Ohio to decide the fate of the MAGA party. Does that mean that there will be two parties besides Democrats, i.e., the MAGA party and the GOP? Or just MAGA under the label GOP?
I say the latter. I say that the old GOP is dead. It might have died late last night with Dick Cheney. Cheney despised Trump and it’s worth watching this old clip of Cheney’s, endorsing his daughter and telling the truth about Trump. Where are these good Republicans, the ones who think like Cheney? Or was he the last?
Dick Cheney: “In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him” pic.twitter.com/cEPBinl0tF

We’ll get through this election day today, bomb threats and all. But it is sobering to the max to contemplate that this is how America is going to be from here on in, bomb threats on every election day. Frequently races are decided by small amounts of votes. Kamala Harris could have won with just twelve more votes per precinct, said Michael Moore at the time.
And that’s exactly the idea. Chase away as many voters as possible because politics, like football, is a game won in inches.

When asked by journalist Lois Lane what he stands for, Superman responds with “… truth, justice and the American way … ” Lane retorts in disbelief. “… You’re going to end up fighting every elected official in this country … ” as an MTV music clip, in the background, plays Bowie’s ‘Changes’. In sum, there appears to be a desire for the values and stability of the past – if they ever existed – that’s countered by the acknowledgement in the reality of political truth – looking forward, politics is transient in nature and subject to change. Your article hints at the only constant in politics, being the reality in the existence of the unpredictability in its journey, as exemplified by your ‘lava lamp’ analogy – change in itself, causes change – it’s literally and constantly malleable but at the same time its unpredictable.
Oops! This was suppose to be posted in response to the article by Denis – Lava lamp analogy. Have now fixed that. Sorry for confusion caused. Cheers.
I hope New Jersey law enforcement finds every single person responsible for these bomb threats and prosecutes them to the fullest extent of the law with every single one of those found guilty, if not locked up for a decade at a minimum (plus on the hook for the costs involved in the police response and investigation) but have their voting rights rescinded for at least a decade, even if they don’t serve jail time.
