And this is a surprise why? Did he ever know any geography? He seems to be confused about Iran these days. This is different from what we think about Iran. Trump thinks islands are all the same. No. These islands are nowhere near the same. They’re quite a distance apart.
The US struck Iranian rocket launchers in the Gulf of Hormuz. That is incorrect in the article. It’s still the Strait of Hormuz, and the island is on the edge of the Arabian Gulf. We should know better than to expect Trump to know how to read a map after the hurricane that went through Alabama. He doesn’t like looking at tablet screens, which is why Natalie has a portable printer.
At least we can be sure the military knows where they hit. We have to assume that there were still some distance munitions left since the island was in the Gulf and we were on the ocean. Since we have used up so much for no point, it’s an interesting question. Or did they send up planes? Either one would be a possibility. The rocket launchers were supposed to be able to lay sea mines.
This was, they say, the first exchange of fire in a month. It seems as if that is too long a time, but it could be accurate, and Trump made a lot of threats without following through. However, Iran is now under further economic sanctions, with some food items only affordable to the very rich. It’s hard to know what to say about something like that. People are literally starving to death. The people are not the ones we have an argument with. That means no trying for a regime change if you can’t eat. And it won’t necessarily open up the Strait for all traffic.
Once more with feeling, Raw Story:
Concerns were raised on Monday morning that 80-year-old President Donald Trump is having problems understanding what is going on in his war on Iran. MS NOW’s Vaughan Hillyard, speaking with MS NOW host Stephanie Ruhle, explained, ”I think it’s worth noting there, you mentioned the AI video of attempting to bomb Kharg Island that the president posted overnight. We were actually just messaging, a few of us on our team, and we believe that the president of the United States has conflated Kharg Island with Larak Island, which is where the IRGC launchers were struck.”‘ “They are 410 miles away– for another geography lesson, Kharg Island from Larak Island. But it seems like perhaps the president of the United States got confused about which islands his military generals were talking to him about here.”
*That* is just plain embarrassing. The leader of America is confused, doesn’t know geography, and won’t look at a map. Imagine if this were former President Biden and the outrage from idiots everywhere. Yes, that’s an overused line, but we certainly should be irked about the things Trump gets away with. A lot of the crap we have been subjected to would not have happened- say, the “war on woke”, or an illegal war, or boat strikes. Or tariffs. Or defacing the Kennedy Center. He just keeps going, piling more and more on us. It won’t stop until he’s out of office, and maybe not even then. So much to fix.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Given chump’s history with maps, if a map disagrees with something he says-no problem. He’ll just take out his handy sharpie and make the correction.
