Biden’s “Game Changer”

Thank you President Biden! Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I’ve been waiting for you to do this for three long months! Biden ran on bringing the country back together again, both politically as well as nationally, and he gave it his best shot. And nowhere was that more obvious than in Biden’s rollout and response to the availability of vaccines to fight the coronavirus.

In announcing the availability of the vaccines, he touted their safety and efficacy. He urged every American to get their jabs. He called on patriotism, national pride, and the truly American ethos of watching out for each other. And when he was met by resistance from GOP Governors and politicians, Trumptards, and far right news media and misinformation moguls, he practically got down on one knee and begged. And got shit on for his efforts.

But enough is enough, and today was enough. Biden finally dropped the hammer, and he dropped it from the top of the Washington monument. Biden announces today that every federal employee going forward must be fully vaccinated, or face weekly Covid testing. Not only that, but every vendor who deals with the US government must have their workforce fully vaccinated, and not just the ones dealing with the government, but all company employees. And he announced that he had ordered the Department of Labor to have OSHA issue an order that any company with more than 100 employees must mandate full vaccination, or weekly Covid testing for un-vaccinated employees.

Yes, yes, YES! This is what I’ve been waiting to hear for so long. From where I’m sitting, this was one of Biden’s best speeches since taking office. He beautifully recounted his passionate attempts for all Americans to respond to their better angels, protect both themselves as well as their neighbors, and get the vaccine. It was music to my ears when he directly called out and maimed GOP Governors and incumbents, far right media, and Facebook for their obstruction to science and common sense. And he made it crystal clear that there is a new sheriff in town.

This is a true game changer. A personal aside. My wife Teri works for a national retailer, and she told me last night that in general conversations with several coworkers, they indicated that they were not vaccinated, and had no intention of getting vaccinated unless the company mandated it. Well, shit, I guess they’ve got a couple of sticks in their futures. Hospitals that accept Medicare and Medicaid funding must now have staffs that are fully vaccinated, or risk losing their federal benefits payments.

This. Is. How. You. Beat. The. Virus. As Biden said, there are more than 80 million Americans eligible for the vaccine that are flipping their administration, as well as their fellow citizens the bird. But the funski valve has just been shut off. If Jethro the Trumptard thought that life was hard because he’s still living in her basement at the age of 43, wait until he’s down there 24/7 because the 7-11 fired him from his part time job for refusing to get vaccinated.

Look, let’s just call this what it is. A long overdue, and much needed return to sanity and reality. For more than a year, the majority of sane, caring, upright American citizens has been held hostage by a loud, rancorous, occasionally violent minority of brain dead fucktards. Well guess what kiddies, playtime is over. The adults are back in charge. You are free to not get vaccinated, but you’re also free to be homeless since you can’t get a job! Thank God that President Biden is finally flexing his muscles, and putting into place the mechanics to correct the problem. Shit! I wanna be able to go into Sunset Station again and have a beer at my machine without having to yank down a mask!
