This is screamingly funny and it gets funnier by the hour. As you know, October 3 the Daily Beast broke a story about a “girlfriend” of Herschel Walker’s coming forth and providing evidence that he paid for an abortion in 2009.

“Slander!” “Smear!” screamed an outraged GOP. The hew and cry was heard throughout the party of family values. Walker held a prayer service. Half a million dollars was raised overnight. Walker was going to be vindicated.

Even Bill O’Reilly jumped dead center into the fray. “Sue the Daily Beast!” Umm….Bill? The truth is an absolute defense to defamation, hate to be the one to tell you. And the Republican definition of “defamation,” i.e., something you don’t want to hear, doesn’t fly in the real world.

Then the Daily Beast updated its story. Walker had initially claimed that he didn’t know who this person was, who was claiming he paid for an abortion. He didn’t know anybody like that, he said. Turns out, the woman who was his girlfriend for that abortion ended up being the mother of another one of his children.

The anonymous woman said that defense sounded ridiculous.

“Sure, I was stunned, but I guess it also doesn’t shock me, that maybe there are just so many of us that he truly doesn’t remember,” she said. “But then again, if he really forgot about it, that says something, too.”

The woman, a registered Democrat whose years-long relationship with Walker continued after the abortion, told The Daily Beast that her chief concern with revealing her name was because she is the mother of one of Walker’s own children and she wanted to protect her family’s privacy as best she could while also coming forward with the truth. (Walker has publicly acknowledged the child as his own, and the woman proved she is the child’s mother and provided credible evidence of a long-term relationship with Walker.)

The Walker campaign declined to comment for this story.

Let’s hope Bill O’Reilly is right and Walker will simply lose his seat now. From your lips to God’s ears, Bill. Never thought I’d say that, but anymore I find incredible comments flowing out my fingers and turning into pixels. Just the other day I was saying I respected Christian Walker. I wonder what unbelievability will happen tomorrow? On the other hand, maybe I don’t want to know.

  2. Don’t the ‘pubes constantly carry on about how black people, black fathers in particular, need to exhibit more responsibility for their actions? This Walker person is textbook what the ‘pubes bitch about so just why exactly are they still supporting him? Someone needs to throw a copy of Websters at them containing a bookmark at the page with the word HYPOCRISY…better get out the bright yellow highlighter too.

I kid of course. The ‘pubes are either too stupid to read the definition or they just don’t give a shit.

    • spike what they do know is that the average memory span for the average GOP voter is approximately 6 hours, they will have forgotten by Nov, plus they just don’t give a shit.

  3. This is the pinnacle, the penultimate of hypocrisy. Stupidity too, but that’s besides the point. Any doubt about paternity? DNA test- open up Herschel, we’re going to take a swab. It’s one thing to have a one-night stand, forget about it and subsequenty find out you’re a dad. This ain’t it. And what’s really astonishing, to the extent that I can be astonished anymore, is that the Repugs are rallying around to defend him. He’s a champion of family values and has a whole slew of kids out of wedlock? He’s pro-life and paid for an abortion? And lied about it. Oh, man… He is UNFIT to serve in the Senate.

  4. Of all people, BillO should kow better than to predict Walker’s loss based on this. They don;t care if he paid to abort thousands of endangered baby eagles (yes, I know that’s impossible, but it’s a direct quote from Dana Loesch.) They just want control of the Senate.

  5. Even by GA standards Herschel is stupid. But he played in the NFL so.rechecked will.votevforbhim, along with most of my in-laws, who aren’t stupid or reject but are inveterate GOP.votets. Especially the one withball.nut dissertation to.her doctorate.Allow me to apologize for them.

  6. Oh yeah, his I guess his legitimate child with I guess his xwife whatever went off on him and it was classic. Then you have some twit with radio free right wing conspiracy saying it’s all good because who cares. We need to sew up the senate. Well they should have thought about that before the Supreme illegitimate Court blew it on the abortion flop. Remember Roevember.
