It’s always nice to know where your taxpayer dollars are going. If you live in Florida or Georgia, in the districts of Matt Gaetz or Marge Greene, you would get better value for your money if you set it on fire and used it to light the bar-b-que coals.
Marge Greene became livid with Jimmy Kimmel’s Will Smith joke and in her newest assault on all our senses, she and Gaetz gang up to let Kimmel know that he is responsible for a couple of nasty calls to Greene’s office — as if she has never received these before. Oh, please.
And Gaetz playing Knight in Shining Armor is the perfect note of idiocy.
Jimmy Kimmel thinks women should be physically harmed.
ABC and their advertisers are cool with it so long as the women are Republicans. https://t.co/HYvh2mSyJ6

She’s only digging her hole deeper and here’s Fred Guttenberg to call her out.
.@mtgreenee, is this you harassing @davidhogg111 weeks after the Parkland shooting, that my daughter was killed in & he was in? Calling him a coward for ignoring your insanity. I will answer all of your questions in person. Get ready to record again.pic.twitter.com/aQjL74x7kh

She’s a 40-something year old woman and in this clip she’s harassing two young people, both under 18 at the time. But she would have you know that she’s the victim of the culture war and not one of the protagonists of it.
In a related story, Will Smith is checking into a ritzy rehab to learn how to cope with stress. A lot more information has come out about that night. It turns out Chris Rock didn’t know that Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness was due to a medical condition — that is a significant fact. It was wrongly assumed that Rock did know and the fact that he didn’t and he was just shooting from the hip with a G.I. Jane joke, that was unscripted, according to ABC, has a completely different dimension to it.
Rock didn’t know he’d struck a nerve and Will Smith also assumed that Rock knew and this is where things got nuts. So now Will Smith is going to lay out some serious coin to work with psychologists who will tell him, in essence, don’t shoot first and ask questions later, because it may backfire on you.
Kudos to Smith for doing something proactive to become a better person. I’m not holding my breath waiting for Marge Greene to do the same.

Um, was Jada NOT out there publicly reporting BEFORE THE OSCARS that she suffered from alopecia? I could’ve sworn that information was public knowledge for weeks (if not months) before the Oscar telecast.
Chris Rock is LYING. The SOB hosted a documentary within the last decade that dealt with the deep connection between Black women and their hair and one of the women he spoke with suffered from alopecia and she spoke how it affected her.
Chris Rock is LYING. And he’s doing it to further getting all that “victim sympathy” which the LYING scumbag doesn’t deserve. For him to NOT know about Jada before the Oscars proves he’s a liar. Especially as he claims to be a comedian (personally, I find him about as funny as a case of hemorrhoids on top of a case of shingles), he shouldn’t be so “unknowing” about things he plans to make jokes about.
Will did react inappropriately–I grant that. But Rock is NO WAY the innocent victim that he’s managed to pull off for the last couple of weeks.
Frankly, it seemed to me that Rock had kind of been on hiatus from the entertainment industry for quite a while. He made a mess of his personal life six or seven years ago and sort of faded into the background. He had after all made a pile of money. As for the current mess I don’t know if he is lying about knowing about Ms. Smith’s condition and neither do YOU. Rock’s ex-wife ran a non-profit that provided hair care for women without means as black women in particular have issues with styling their hair. Back ten year or so ago Rock did that documentary on the issues black women face and he did include someone who addressed the medical condition Ms. Smith has so he knows about the disease and its effects. Again I note two things – Rock doesn’t seem to have been much involved in the entertainment business and the celebrity world in recent years, and while Ms. Smith apparently did speak out on her condition I didn’t know about it. (More on that in a bit) Rock has been dealing with his own (from what I can tell mostly self-created) personal shit. The other thing is that after all this blew up I learned that a couple of weeks prior to the Oscars Ms. Smith gave an interview with some outfit that apparently people follow where she more or less said she’d come to terms with things, and was going to rock her look & didn’t care what others thought about it anymore. (She does carry it off well – better than some who have tried it)
Now, let me say upfront I haven’t really followed the Oscars for years. I check to see what movies/actors won, or see news about it but the broadcast itself long ago lost its appeal for me. I don’t go to movies and haven’t for years, mostly because they BLAST the sound in theaters louder than fucking rock concerts I attended when younger. And then Covid came along providing yet another reason not to bother. I just wait for stuff to show up on TV later on. I also pay only mild attention to the goings on of most celebrities although some are in the news so much it’s hard not to at least notice them which brings me to the point over which I might catch a lot of grief.
Both Will and Jada Smith have been successful actors. However let’s be real here. She has never come close to the aclaim/attention Will has gotten over the years. Will Smith has been a pretty sure box-office bet. Sure, he’s been in some flops (who hasn’t?) but for the most part he’s long been one of the more bankable stars in Hollywood. Jada, although successful in her own right simply never reached the level her husband has in that regard. Then there’s their marriage. It seemed for a long time to be one of those few Hollywood marriages where both people acted that beat the odds as in being ongoing and loving. But it turns out things changed in recent years and Jada started stepping out, including an affair for a while with some rapper that’s well-known. Attempts were made to spin it as having become an open marriage but it seems that was just spin. Will Smith seems to have loved his wife to the point where he’d put up with shit like that to have only part of her love. Many a spouse has gone to great lengths and made personally humiliating concessions to try and hold a marriage or relationship together. Celebrities are no different than the rest of us in that regard. The difference is that a Hollywood star like Smith has to do so with some spotlight shining on them but the couple’s PR team seemed to have sold things as being “ok.” I think what we saw at the Oscars gives lie to THAT.
Yes, I’m speculating but precisely because she has been a good actor in her own right but NOT as big (and bankable) name as her husband Jada Smith became jealous. And started fucking around on him. He was after all working – a lot and she had more time on her hands and relatively speaking in the shadows. I look at the timing of when things might have changed and that movie Concussion comes to mind. The movie didn’t get the attention it deserved (I’m sure the NFL worked furiously to ensure that would be the case) but Smith seems to have gotten notice for his portrayal of the main character. IOW his performance as Ali but much better which is saying something. He became more than just a movie star but got notice as actually capable of serious acting chops. It was in the aftermath of that that Jada started stepping out on him – perhaps the sort of action star stuff that made him such a big name she was ok with but NOT him being considered a full-blown actor with true range (what he considered HER province perhaps?) made her jealous. I don’t know but she started stepping out on him, and when it became an open secret the whole “open” marriage thing popped up. Interestingly unless I’m mistaken Will hasn’t availed himself of his “freedom” in that regard. It’s not like he’d have trouble doing so. He’s handsome and personable and of course rich.
No one can every be sure until the envelope is opened and the name of the winner of a category is announced at the Oscars (there have been quite a few surprises over the years) but Will Smith seemed certain to be named best male actor in a leading role and win his first Oscar. I gather it would have been considered a shock if he hadn’t, one about which the stories of “why not?” would still be in the news today! So when they got to the venue both Will and Jada had an expectation that this would be Will’s big night. And they secured themselves seating right up front. Looking back (and I know this is a mean spirited thing to say but I’ve often mocked guy’s tuxes and women’s dresses at events like this) at pictures of them on the Red Carpet Jada’s outfit with that train/tail made her look like snake – a cobra. She couldn’t have known what would transpire but if someone were scripting events that what she seemed to be – a cobra waiting to strike and inject venom.
Keep in mind that while Rock’s joke wasn’t tasteful celebrities deal with that and worse all the time. It goes with the territory so to speak. And as for Jada and her condition it seems a LOT of people didn’t know (and remember the audience was made up of fellow Hollywood types) or didn’t think it was that out of line because a LOT of people laughed. Including initially Will Smith! It was only after looking over at his wife and seeing “that” look (and all of us guys have gotten it from our mom, a wife or a lover in our life and know we are in deep, deep shit!) that Will Smith got up and did what he did. ANYTHING to keep his wife happy. To keep her from leaving him. ANYTHING including doing something completely out of character for him and on worldwide TV. Something no one had ever done at the Oscars. He took his time walking up to Rock, and one has to wonder if (as I think is the case) he knew he’d be shitting on his big moment that was due to come up soon. And his whole night. But he felt he had NO other choice if he was going to earn his wife’s tolerance, if not forgiveness.
Look, I know it’s incredibly unfair how women get judges on superficial shit like fashion or their hair in a way men almost never do. I also know that as sensitive as men can be to hair loss (and as someone who went bald early I know that some go out of their way to be judgemental about it) it’s got to be even worse for women. I get that. However, the same woman who a couple of weeks earlier said she’d come to terms with her own hair issues and no longer cared what others thought about her look either was blowing smoke or saw a chance to take her husband down a few (turns out more than a few!) notches with a “You going to let HIM get away with that?” attitude. She could have dismissively waved her hand and shook her head with the barest hint of a smile and borne the moment. Instead she glowered at her husband, daring him to DO something. Well, he did. She didn’t just inspire/compell him to shit all over his big moment and the entire evening, she didn’t just bring him down to HER level in Hollywood. Oh hell no. She gutted him and spilled his guts across the floor and his career.
Yes, she has a medical condition that causes spots on her scalp to lose hair. So do others. It sucks for many. I knew I’d go bald and at an early age and can honestly say it never bugged me except when some woman would tell me she simply couldn’t go out with a bald guy. Oh well. But for many it’s a truly troublesome thing. In Jada’s case she’s fortunate enough to be a lovely (in appearance at least) woman who can carry off the shaved head look well. I tend to think that in that recent interview when she said she no longer cared what others thought she was telling the truth.
And I also think she’s long been jealous that in comparison her career and fame while significant pales in comparison to that of her husband. I think she resented that he was going to be so celebrated that night, and in the days and weeks to follow and saw a chance to cut a big piece out of him.
I for one don’t much care for the whole “Poor Jada” narrative that’s been woven out of all this. I think she’s been emotionally abusing her husband for some years before now and is lapping up the attention she’s getting and enjoying the devastation to her husband’s career and reputation.
Pretty sure this unemployable hack you mention has hosted the Oscars for the past several years. Doesn’t sound like a career in decline to me?
I’ve been revealed as embarrassingly clueless numerous times in my life about who is who and trending in celebrity world. As a result I’m not the best person to ask who is “hot” at a given moment but even someone like me can see certain names popping up in the news on a frequent basis, and even if I don’t go to movies I still see promos on TV and on the internet. Rock hasn’t, at least to me been much of a presence for some years now. So I looked up his Wikipedia profile. Yes, he did host the Oscars. Twice in fact with the last time being in 2016. The first was roughly ten years before that. He’s also made appearances in a handful of movies since then but looking at the titles I realized I hadn’t seen any of them. Nor did I know about, much less see a standup special of his a few years ago. Much as I enjoy comedy and standup HBO and other premium networks that feature the stuff is an extravagence that’s too much of a stretch on my budget. If it doesn’t air on Comedy Central (and I can’t remember the last time I saw Rock there) then I don’t see it. I do feel comfortable in saying that he’s never had the level of stardom Will Smith attained, and certainly not over the past fifteen to twenty years. I might not know WTF I’m talking about when it comes to levels of stardom but it’s my impression Rock is more on the level of Jada Smith – talented, solid and well-known but not someone producers would think of in terms of “If we could get THIS person as our feature star we will make a shitload of money on this project.” So I stand by my assessment of Rock – a quite well known comedian who was one of the “it” comedians for a time who also did film roles. And after screwing around and ruining his marriage he didn’t seem to pop up as often, even if he did get the Oscar hosting gig in 2016.
If Kooky Pants is so concerned about violence against women: where does she stand on VAWA? I cannot remember what her vote was if she even did vote on that legislation. I thought she was one of the fuck-wits who didn’t want firearms taken away from violent spouses/partners. Most of her stands on “issues” are that stupid so my assumption is kind of understandable.
Quite frankly tho’, I kind of figure the whole oscars thing was scripted since viewership has been decreasing dramatically for these types of shows. Such a thing would actually have a dual purpose: getting more people interested in the damned things AND making people aware of the medical condition. Cynicism on my part? More realism actually knowing how the world in general, and Hollywood in particular, works.
Mr. Smith ought to act like an adult. The damage he did to black men with his public display of violence did nothing to help the black community. If you don’t want law enforcement, and others, taking pot-shots at you out on the streets, not acting violently in public would be a good first step.
How does Will Smith slapping Chris Rock make black men look bad? Does MTG make ALL white women look bad. Does Matt Gaetz make ALL white men look like pedophiles. I am so sick of that trope. If one person of color does something wrong it makes all people of color look bad. Every day we hear more and more about the atrocities about TFG’s administration and the Putin regime, no one lumps them in altogether.
The first amendment guarantees the government will.not censor speech. It doesn’t guar a,respectful audience or any audience. People are free to ignore you completely, make obscene gestures, argue with you, laugh and point( my favorite approach to roadside preachers of any faith).
Political speech has even more latitude.Satireinto which group Kimmel is monologue falls,is protected. No,MTG,you can’t sue over this.
This is the resu look t of bad schools without actual civics and fsvtual.history leads to.
Yes,she graduated from.UGS, but I think she majored in Tailgate Picnics, Drinking to Excess, and Being Half-time Entertainment. I.mran,my niece graduated from.there and she is pretty damned stupid.
Joseph: And his motive for LYING? Unless Chris could predict Smith would react in a way beneficial to Mr. Rocks plan, Then its just another poor joke in a poor act. Pretty hard to assign motive to that?
Green just hasn’t realized it yet but the First Amendment beats the hell out of the Second Amendment each and every time!!!
While Smith might have restrained himself, Rocks comment shows how low the Oscars have sunk over the years. This is not Rock’s first bad taste rodeo. He made such a an insulting remark about Asians in 2016 and he also insulted Jada over her boycott of the Oscars because if the system’s lack of diversity. To go further in a quest to play “quien es mas macho,” Rock has succeeded in making the Oscars more like an episode of Jerry Springer. Bad taste all around and Rock is the greater offender. Sorry, but Will Smith certainly is the better man. He gave Rock a NOT unprovoked slap and has entered therapy to get control. That will neve happen with Rock. Don Rickles he AIN’T. He is just a low-rent with a miceophone.
