You knew that the Arizona audit was nuts but believe me, you have no idea how nuts. VICE News is reporting on some of the records that American Oversight has been able to obtain so far from the Arizona State Senate and the details that are coming out are not to be believed. This is one of those articles you should read in its entirety if you only have time for one piece today.
First of all, the characters that the fraudit attracted are something. You know all about the Cyber Ninjas. But possibly the one who takes the cake is Gail Golec, a Scottsdale realtor who wanted to put snipers on the roof in order to insure the safety of the proceedings at the Madhouse On McDowell, as the venue where the audit took place was called.
Oh. My. God. This would be hilarious if this kind of misinformation didn't also present a physical threat to innocent people.

Golec believed the recount was under threat and asked Bennet at one point if the National Guard had been requested to protect the site, including “snipers on the roof.” Golec believed that antifa and Black Lives Matter posed a threat to the recount, and at one point she sent Bennett a picture of a bus with Black Lives Matter written on the side with the caption: “FYI they are here.” The picture, it turned out, was of a bus belonging to the Toronto Raptors, who were not in Phoenix.
But Golec outdid herself when she contacted Bennett about the threat from fire-throwing clowns at a carnival that had set up next to the Coliseum.
“The hiring of clowns as fire throwers is of course deeply concerning. Do not ignore this video. The FBI should look into this. There are no clowns at carnivals.”
Bennett does not appear to have responded to the message.
“There are no clowns at carnivals.” She’s probably right. Every clown in Maricopa County and beyond was working on the fraudit.
And the fraudit was a great place to work. Glory be, I had no idea. If I thought this kind of money was to be made, I might have driven on down there myself. You won’t believe this.
Some Arizona audit workers were getting $125 per hour
While most of the people doing the actual hand recount of the 2.1 million ballots volunteered their time, those supervising them were certainly being paid for it.
According to a document detailing the pay rates of those involved in the recount, one person who worked for just 12 days on the months-long audit took home over $20,000.
The unnamed person was a floor manager and earning $125 per hour. The list also contains dozens of other positions which are paid either $50 or $100 per hour. While the floor manager’s total was the highest in the list, a number of other people were paid more than $12,000, including a photographer.

Man, this was the job to have in 2021, no question about that whatsoever. And what is interesting is that election fraud is an industry. It truly is. The scales are dropping from my eyes and I see what we’re dealing with here. Take a look at the big picture of the Big Lie. You know how much Mike Lindell has sunk into his folly, some $15 Million, we are told. And you see the kind of cash generated here at the Arizona audit. And you know how Lin Wood, Sidney Powell, Michael Flynn and the rest of them have been busy with their documentaries, rallies and conferences and making plenty of money with that. It is an industry. There’s no other way to describe it.
And you’re going to love this even more. Trump, of course, was funding the fraudit. It was certainly in his interest to do so.
Trump funding
On April 22, a week before the audit would get underway, Randy Pullen, a spokesperson for the recount and a former chair of the Texas GOP, got a text message from Jeff DeWit, the former CFO of NASA and a former Trump campaign official.
DeWit said he wanted to donate $175,000 to the Guardian Defense Fund, an entity set up by Rep. Paul Gosar, Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem, and former Arizona state Rep. Anthony Kern after their attendance at the Jan. 6 rally.
Pullen responded: “200 would be better but take what I can get.”
On March 7, Pullen wrote, “I am drafting up an audit plan. I have a couple examples. Did you put one together for Wisconsin? … Could you share?” “Let me make a call this am and get back to u,” Priebus responded the next day. pic.twitter.com/QRzlHLBfcN

Then DeWit enquired about Fund the Audit, a dark money fundraising vehicle set up by former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne, who has become one of the biggest election fraud conspiracy theorists.
DeWit asked if the group was legit and if it “was OK to donate to?” Then he added: “Trump asking.” Pullen said the group was legit and had raised $1.2 million so far.
There is no indication that Trump followed through and gave money to the group, but data released by Cyber Ninjas in July shows that Fund the Audit is by far the biggest funder of the audit, providing $3.25 million.
Follow the money is always a great idea, because when you see where the money is coming from and where it is going, you get the broad brush strokes of what is going on. We have all laughed at this ludicrous spectacle in Arizona and while we are right to do so, I think most of us have missed the fact that the taxpayers are being burdened, and of course the MAGAs are being stolen blind — and they’re too dumb to know it.
The GOP is embracing Trumpism, not because it’s such a fine philosophy. There is no philosophy. They’re embracing it because it’s a way of making a buck. Keep the rubes ginned up and hysterical and they’ll keep donating to lost causes. And the GOPers who get involved in this go away rich.
And screw democracy. That’s of no account. The erosion to our institutions, the negative impact on our culture that this ludicrous election fraud conspiracy theory has caused, is of zero account. It’s only us naive fools who think it’s a big deal. The big boys, the Republicans who are lining their pockets with this, think it’s just fine. And they’re not going to stop. Not while the donations are coming in.
It’s all about money.
I’ll tell you a dark plot that is forming in the back of my mind, and I just may do it. Since the MAGAs are so gullible, I’m beginning to think that I should have a piece of their money, too. I’m fantasizing creating a right-wing nut job blogger who talks the MAGA talk and see if the dummies want to send money to my fictional creation. It goes against the grain of my integrity, but I’ll tell you something, if these people are this stupid, maybe they deserve to be taken. I can understand why P.T. Barnum said, “Never give a sucker an even break.”
This Stop the Steal madness has been some eye opener. Wow.

Do it. Then donate the money to the candidates of ur choice. Maybe u should encourage Texas democrats to file lawsuits against Republican women for trying to get abortions just to jam up the courts for the next 100 years. Time to fight dirt with dirt. Or else LOSE.
Maybe you’re right. I’m pondering it, believe me.
Fck. The most I ever got was about $27/hour, and that was with 40-hour weeks. (Management, technically, so no overtime.)The people getting $50/hour were two grades up from me.
Ursula, if you DID start such a fundraiser (and I’m not suggesting you do that), you’d probably be the ONE individual who would be hauled into court to explain youself! NOT FAIR!
My idea was to create a right-wing character, who talked the crazy talk and just get the money out of it. In so many ways, that’s what most of the right wing is doing anyhow. They love to troll the left and get attention and there’s cash in it. But mostly they do it for cash. Those of us who are writing, at least on this site, really believe what we’re saying and we want to save America. That’s a totally different mind set from running a scam for profit.
At one point on the Trump admin, almost for sure inspired by something written by Ursula or Murph, I considered how hard it would be to set up a PAC to collect funds to run Trump ads showcasing him and America’s noble pets, based on high voter approval of pets. Then if I got money, the ads would be “TRUMP! (silly photo) CATS! (Cute photo) TRUMP! (Silly photo) DOGS! (Cute photo)” This ad paid for by Trump for pets and pets for Trump, no animals were harmed in the making of this ad.
Dare we hope overstock.com will be going out of business soon?
