Okay, this is it, Trump has totally lost his mind. Even with a prepared speech, he goes off topic. Way, way, way off topic. This one ranks close to his “threesome” remark. It makes me (and you, possibly) speechless. How and where did he come up with this beauty? It makes me twitch. It’s embarrassing. It was bad enough when he interfered with the FIFA tournament after talking about his sons and the Medal of Honor. Now this? With amazement from Raw Story:
Amid reports that diplomats and world leaders are beside themselves over Donald Trump’s threats at the NATO conference in Turkey, the president attempted Wednesday to spin the meeting as a lovefest.
Say whaaaaaat? Does he think we’re back in the Woodstock generation? The whole stereotypical free love etc etc ? This is not a love-fest sort of meeting; it’s a very serious meeting(s)! The man has forgotten this is a NATO gathering, not one of his MAGA speeches where he can say anything and they will whoop and holler for him. He’s already insulted President Zelenskyy in person and on camera. Who is next?
Sounding raspy and looking tired, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, looking over his shoulder, the president, as is his custom, departed from his prepared notes to claim that he is quite the popular guy with his counterparts. “They respect us as a country,” Trump said. “They didn’t respect us two years ago. They laughed at us. NATO laughed at us; everybody laughed at us. They don’t laugh anymore.
No, you idiot, they still laugh at *you*. He just can’t see it because that isn’t part of his reality, as we’ve discussed previously. The US is not doing well in the world because of Trump. He has done such amazingly wrong things that the reputation of our country is gone. We used to be a world leader. As you have seen, we aren’t anymore, thanks to the people who put him back in office and therefore his dismal ‘administration’. America has slid downhill very fast, and there’s not much we can say to the world about Trump. If only we could do something to tell the world that some of us didn’t vote for him.
Trump then added an odd remark. “And they’re, you know, just again, if you could have seen the respect and the love in the room and it’s love really for the country, for our country,” Trump said. “ I don’t want to say me because you’ll say, oh, he’s so conceited. He’s such a conceited person. But they do.” “I mean, you know, they, like the job I’m doing,” he continued. “They said, ‘We love, sir, we love you.’ These are grown people saying that. Isn’t that nice?” “Maybe, I don’t know, maybe they’re trying to get to me. And, in a way, they did, because there was tremendous unity in that room,” he asserted.
That is just nasty. It squicks me. What a thing to say. I have a horrible image in my head of Trump saying it. “They love me.” Maybe some of his slobbering sycophants or even MAGA. That’s an even worse image. Remember pictures of Trump kissing the American flag? That was mortifying. And now this. It would be strange behavior for someone who is in a normal mental state. We absolutely know Trump’s brain is fading. What the hell is going on here?

I’m thinking there was as much love as the last international meeting he attended. I saw a photo of the group and everyone was talking with each other, except for him. He stood in the middle, alone, with no one talking to him. I’m thinking that’s the real picture of the situation.
