It’s a tragedy and I’m sure a wonder to Anthony Fauci, that he needs to have a security detail keep him safe in his old age. The man has done nothing wrong, unless being the reigning expert in his field at a time of global pandemic can be viewed as something culpable. Rather, it’s a wrong place at the wrong time for Wingnuttia kind of a situation, because the MAGAs need a scapegoat. This iteration of the GOP cannot stay in business unless it’s got an Other to demonize and Fauci drew the short straw.

This is getting Hitler-esque. Apparently this is the look that the GOP wants going into 2022. We can deduce that, or deduce that this guy has misread the room and doesn’t know his constituents. We’ll see if he gets elected.
It’s nothing short of monstrous that something like this can develop in America. Dr. Fauci is doing the same job that he’s done for seven presidents. But because president number six was a fabulist who needed a scapegoat to push back against, Fauci is demonized. I’m sure nobody marvels at this fact more than he does.
Likewise, it’s incredible that a public health crisis has been retooled to become a tribal skirmish point, but that’s the case as well. In the meantime, in the too little too late category, Sean Hannity is asking people to get vaccinated, while the rest of the network’s stars keep going with the counter narrative, and MAGAs are dying. This is not a good direction for the country to go, but the GOP has to all intents and purposes become a subversive organization, rather than a major political party.
The GQP and the MAGAts need someone to focus their hate on. It is only hate that keeps the cult together.
I wonder how healthy or alive any of these people are going to be by Election Day 2022. Current evidence suggests not that much. But oh, let’s blame the guy who’s been doing his best to save your life.
If Graham wants to die, fine. But he should leave Fauci out of it. No one has forced him to get a vaccine, and no one will unless he wants to go somewhere that requires proof of vaccination.
Looks like we have another rabid G.Q.P.’r needing to be taken out of play. Cool. I’m up for it.
Well, if Allen believes people should go to jail for “misinformation,” then there will be a whole lot of people who will be going there before Fauci.
For starters, pretty much every talking head at Fox “News” and a certain orange-toned toad who still can’t accept he lost the 2020 election and virtually every single member of the GOP currently in Congress.
Lock them up.
