I must say, of all the rumors runnning through the rumor mill these days, this makes an abundance of sense to me and I’m not surprised that the truth is leaking out. Queen Elizabeth was quoted as saying that she believed the Trumps “had an arrangement” and the part-time First Lady has only made that abundantly clear.
Earlier this month, Semafor reported that the White House pushed back aggressively on Senator Jon Ossoff’s quip about Trump just wanting to spend time with “Natalie” because “the First Lady doesn’t like these types of things.” But now gossip columnist Rob Shuter has claimed that Melania’s issue is with the chatter about her husband’s close relationship with an aide 45 years his junior, not Harp herself.
“Melania hates becoming part of somebody else’s gossip, but she absolutely doesn’t want Natalie gone,” a source told Shuter. “Why would she? Natalie handles the exhausting, around-the-clock Donald duty Melania has spent years avoiding.”
Shuter’s sources added that the First Lady is actually “grateful” to have someone else tending to her extremely attention-seeking husband’s needs:
“Melania isn’t jealous of Natalie — she’s grateful for her,” a Trumpworld insider tells Naughty But Nice. “Donald demands constant attention, and Natalie genuinely seems to enjoy giving it to him. For Melania, that takes an enormous amount of pressure off.”
Harp has become one of Trump’s most visible and devoted aides, frequently traveling with him and reportedly keeping him supplied with documents and news stories.
“Natalie wants to be there for every meeting, every trip, every moment. Melania doesn’t,” another source explains. “They want entirely different relationships with Donald, and that’s exactly why this works.”
It’s still not totally clear what’s going on between this trio. But one thing’s for sure: You’re not going to catch Melania sifting through reams of printed-out MAGA AI slop, typing out Donald’s Truth Social tirades, or scaring people with her endless devotion to the president.
This follows my instincts to the letter. I don’t think Melania can stand to be around Donald and so anybody who steps into that role is an ally. Yes, Melania split the instant Natalie showed up at the car race, but that was probably Melania leaving with relief that now she could make an escape — not having a jealous snit as was inferred.
