We all know she’s an idiot, a talking head for Trump’s bullshizzle. This time, she could not keep a straight face during a press conference, insisting that what Trump said was true. Apparently, even she gets tired of trying to lie. Or she has no self-control left at this point. Nonetheless, she was struggling at a recent press conference. Thank you, Raw Story:
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt struggled to keep a straight face while insisting that information she delivered from the podium was “obviously true because I’m saying it.” During Wednesday’s White House briefing, Michael Graham noted that Americans in New England were paying “the highest prices for natural gas to heat their home.” “The problem is the blue states will not allow the gas to travel to produce electricity or to reach customers,” he observed. “When President Trump first came back in office, there was some talk of him and Gov. [Kathy] Hochul and New York possibly reaching a deal.”
Uh huh. Certainly. Trump was going to talk with a blue state governor to “allow the gas to travel”. What in the holy hell is *that* supposed to mean? It can’t go through New York state? Okay then, why? That’s a great example of doublespeak, because it should mean *something*, but doesn’t. Travel. Say what?
“Well, the President has promised all Americans across the country, and in particular, in the Northeast, where we do face much higher costs of electricity and of energy, unfortunately, because of the Democrat policies in the area,” Leavitt replied. “From the federal government’s perspective, the President and the National Energy Dominance Council Secretaries Wright and Burgum are doing all we can when it comes to federal permitting.”
“The drill baby drill agenda is obviously underway. The president has made a huge push for more fossil fuels in this country. You look at what he did last week with respect to coal,” she added. “Coal truly keeps the lights on in this country. We learn that in the recent winter storms. However, there’s only so much that can be done at the federal level.”
Only so much can be done. Yea, that doesn’t make sense either. We thought the federal government could pretty much do whatever it wanted. Apparently, that is incorrect. Who knew? Well, now we do, and we should hold onto that tidbit of information. It’s not *worth* anything, but we should remember it. Why? Ask KKKaroline or Trump. *snort*
As Leavitt continued, she seemed to struggle to hold back laughter. “And I just have a quick statistic here on energy that I found fascinating, and it’s obviously true because I’m saying it up here,” she smiled. “Red states with Republican legislatures currently enjoy lower average retail electricity prices than blue states with Democrat legislatures.” “And that’s exactly why the president is calling on all blue state governors across New England and the northeast to get on board.”
Another article on RS mentioned that the pipelines are on *federal* land and are controlled by the *federal* government. So, she’s spouting hooey where she knows damn well it’s not true. By the way, it’s not surprising that some blue states have higher energy costs. A number of them are in the north and get *cold*. The utility companies can charge what they want because they need heat during the winter, and a lot of it. They have people over a barrel. If you want to get heat, or, less often, air conditioning, you have to pay. There’s no way around it. That’s one generality. I’m sure there are others. (I have family in New York state, so I actually do have some knowledge of it.) But KKKaroline couldn’t keep a straight face. Gotta love it. See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
