Couldn’t have happened to a nastier orange tin god. PM Mark Carney has reached out, and multiple countries are interested in what he has to say. Tariffs have been making everybody hurt, so it’s time for Trump to take his toys and go home. Still sucks for us, but showing him that he has no power anymore might still be worth it. Damn, that man has screwed us, and there’s a lot we’ll never get back. Does anyone want to move to Canada? (Ha, kidding, it’s *cold* up there!) You’re appreciated, Raw Story:

An economic plan from world leaders could reduce the impact of Donald Trump’s tariff policy worldwide, insiders say. The president’s economic plan, which he implemented during his second term, has caused disruptions domestically and internationally. World leaders are now seeking a way through the economic spiral, and Canadian PM Mark Carney is believed to be at the helm of this plan. Insiders, speaking to Politico, confirmed there are nearly 40 countries interested in the talks. A Canadian government official said, “The work is definitely coming along. We’ve had very fruitful discussions on it with other partners around the world.”

Putting aside the hell for us, this could certainly be a starting point. PM Carney and others could mitigate the ridiculous costs Trump has imposed. The adults in the room are much smarter and can see the whole picture. Trump looks at the money and how much of it he can get. He doesn’t give a damn about anyone else, neither the people of America nor the people of the world. He’s the “all-powerful American president”, after all. Everyone sees the emperor has no clothes, and they’re tired of him. PM Carney is one of a few people who can actually shut Trump up and keep control of the meeting, wherever or whenever it may be. Having him lead this is a fantastic choice.

Both the European Union and members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, including Canada, Mexico, and Australia, are keen to stand against Trump‘s economic policies and their effects on the wider world. A Japanese trade official said, “We see a lot of value in increasing trade among the EU and CPTPP parties, which would also contribute to enhancing supply chain resilience.” Another diplomat from an unnamed nation spoke positively of the possible alliance between the EU and CPTPP. They said, “If the EU is up for the conversation, then of course it would make things very interesting indeed.”

Indeed, it will, pun intended. The thought of a muzzle being put on Trump would make for some happy dreams. There’s even a decent chance it will happen. *Everyone* is tired of Trump, except for the Russians, of course. Somehow, it doesn’t seem like Russia will be invited to this group, especially since Putin has a direct line to Trump. Why give him any extra warning? Finding out when it becomes official would be fabulous, because it will be obvious to everyone *but* him that he is getting the short end of the stick. The people of America will certainly notice and will be snickering up our sleeves.

Klemens Kober, director of trade policy, EU customs and transatlantic relations at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also confirmed relevant parties were looking into an agreement which, if signed, could hinder Trump and his administration’s hold on world economics. All relevant actors are looking at it,” Kober said. “If there can be a focus on having these rules as harmonized and simple as possible, as part of these negotiations, that could prove advantageous for German companies. “Having the possibility of cumulating origin between different FTAs is very useful. We hope that if that’s a success, if you can see tangible benefits in different areas, that could also entice other countries to join in and team up in a positive sense. So, the more the merrier.”

Will it be worth the hell we are and will be in when this happens? That’s tough to say. It will certainly hurt us. But after all Trump has done thus far, and we’re barely into year 2, who knows how much longer he will last? At this rate, it’s hard to know if *we* will last. Would (Will) Vance be better or worse? Again, it’s tough to say. But something has to break soon, and this very well may do it. We have to climb out of hell, no matter what helps us out. It’s worth believing. See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. Would you help me, Susan? My mind is not as quick as it used to be. Right after a Raw Story quote that ended with “They said, ‘If the EU is up for the conversation, then of course it would make things very interesting indeed,'” you wrote, “Indeed, it will, pun intended.”

I have been racking my brain to see the pun. Would you point it out to me? Thanks, Susan.

PS: If anybody else wants to tell me first, I will appreciate your assistance.
