It couldn’t have happened to a nastier, unqualified idiot. She tried for more of Trump’s Revenge Tour and failed miserably. Everyone is having fits, and they are welcome to do so. This was nonsense from the start. She got figuratively slapped upside the head, and Pirro deserved it. She has failed again, and we should hang on for the Trump tirade to come, not that it will make a difference. Stupidity and comments to come. With respect to Raw Story:
Outrage erupted across social media Tuesday after reports that the Trump administration attempted – and failed – to secure indictments against Democratic lawmakers over a video urging members of the military and intelligence communities to refuse unlawful orders.
“For the CEOs and university presidents and other responsible leaders who have been biding their time and waiting for him to cross the magic red line before speaking up,” Sen. Chris Murphy wrote, “maybe when he starts arresting Senators is a good time to get off the f—— sidelines.”
Ouch! Well said, sir! This shizzle needs to *stop*. We all know it won’t, but we can still hope. But they are failing at almost everything they try to do. Judges are pushing back. Grand juries are pushing back. This thing was doomed from the get-go. If nothing else, the First Amendment is for freedom of speech. Pirro is trying to twist it so that only certain people [note: that being Trump and his cabinet] have this ability. It doesn’t work that way. She still tried, and it was a waste of time. We can be sure the grand jury thought so, too.
The reaction came after reports emerged that prosecutors failed to secure an indictment tied to a video featuring six Democratic lawmakers that President Donald Trump had previously claimed amounted to “seditious behavior.” Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), one of the lawmakers targeted, called the effort “an outrageous abuse of power by Donald Trump and his lackies.”
“It wasn’t enough for Pete Hegseth to censure me and threaten to demote me; now it appears they tried to have me charged with a crime — all because of something I said that they didn’t like. That’s not the way things work in America. Donald Trump wants every American to be too scared to speak out against him. The most patriotic thing any of us can do is not back down.”
Touche’ Senator Kelly! THAT is the way to fight back. We are *not* in 1984, much as Trump would like to think so. We *do* have freedom of speech. Nothing Pirro can do can ignore that. This includes those in Trump’s Revenge Tour. (This group of 6 was very likely added to his ‘list’.) It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad and ridiculous. We could still speak out even if he was a dictator. He can threaten all he wants. It’s not going to work. Judges and grand juries are telling Pirro and Trump so. And now, some reactions:
More Democrats continued to pile on. “This is absolutely obscene, disgusting,” said Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) in a social media post. “Un-American at the most basic level. The stuff of dictatorships.” //// “The shocking thing is not that Pirro failed. It’s that she even tried,” Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) wrote to his followers on Tuesday.
Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau added in his own post: “We have lawless thugs in charge of our government.” While former federal prosecutor Joyce Alene theorized to her followers on X that no indictment was secured, “Likely because no crime was committed.” //// Veteran congressional reporter Jamie Dupree summed it up: “Totes not normal, part deux,” he concluded.
Yes, this debacle says a lot about the state of our country. We have hoodlums in ICE/CBP running around assaulting people and dragging them off to (usually) disappear. My theory is that they always have planes waiting in different cities to send the kidnapped people off to a large ICE holding facility somewhere. We already know how damn bad the conditions are in any ICE/CBP holding area.
We have people trying to be AGs to get indictments against people in Trump’s Revenge Tour, and we can add Jeanine Pirro to that list. They’re all failing miserably because the courts are saying, “WTF are you doing? This is a farce”. The difficulty is that Trump never gives up and walks away. Think about the No Kings protests on Trump’s birthday when almost no one came to his parade. He was expecting millions. He got a few hundred, not counting the people in Congress who were forced to be there. Quite a few left early.
Then think even more about No Kings. They got millions for the first, and even more millions for the second. The one in March is really going to be something. But still, Trump isn’t giving up after his AGs fail miserably and often. Yea, that’s dementia or something like it screwing with Trump’s brain. So what the hell will they try next? What the hell will We the People do next? Time will tell, and it’s on our side.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

When you’ve got a painful bulging pustule, that won’t go away, it’s time to lance it. That time is now.
If you are referring to Pirro, my reply is “got that right”!!
Besides the obvious, ridiculous attempt to prosecute this, it says by implication that the current maladministration INTENDS to give illegal orders and EXPECTS troops to carry them out. This is who should be prosecuted.
Cripes that’s a painful thought. They should be expecting illegal orders. Well, sheeeeeeeeeit.
