Y’know, she should really just give up and spend the rest of her days away from people. No one can stand the woman. She doesn’t do anything but take up space and bore the rest of the people in the House out of their minds while she rants and raves about something ridiculous that does not belong in Congress. This time, well, it’s at least mildly entertaining. Thanks to Raw Story:

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) faced backlash after she used a Biden-era grant to bolster her reputation during a run for governor in South Carolina. “MACE WIN: We helped support a $5 million Airport Terminal Program investment for the Hilton Head Island Airport, funding critical terminal upgrades,” the lawmaker proclaimed on Thursday on X. According to WTGS, the grant was part of former President Joe Biden’s infrastructure agenda, which Mace voted against.

Oooops. Trying to take credit for something former President *Biden* did is backwards. And she had nothing to do with *that*. No, she was not a Biden fan. The only person she is a fan of is herself, and her strange attempts to get some attention in the House. How many people have said she needs help, and how many tried to get her help? Apparently, she won’t admit she is the problem and not anyone else. People are pulling away from her. And her recent tantrum at the airport is not going to make her any friends. But she won’t give it up.

Grok, the X platform’s chatbot, called out Mace: “The grant originates from the Airport Terminals Program under the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Mace voted against in November 2021, a pattern seen in her prior claims of credit for similar district projects. Replies criticize the post for hypocrisy, with users noting her opposition to the funding source.” //// “You voted AGAINST this grant, actually,” one commenter noted. “Your voting record is public. This was part of the Biden infrastructure law that you VOTED AGAINST.”

SCORCHED. It’s bad when you get called out by a *chatbot*. That was painful to see. Nancy won’t notice. She’ll just keep on chasing the spotlight in bizarre ways or curse out airport personnel for not reacting fast enough. All of us have things we would like to forget where we embarrassed ourselves. She *has* completely forgotten hers, so it doesn’t matter if she does it again. Kinda wish someone could get her help. Oh, well.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

    • Well, until the CHARGES are actually announced, it seems premature for this to have been of any note except, perhaps, to benefit some political adversary. (Even the article provides a possibility that it could be retribution since her choice to support the effort to censure the reprehensible Cory Mills failed on the House floor. Given what Mills has been accused of and HE didn’t get censured, anything against Mace seems to suggest there’s some deep sexism at play.)

  1. For what it’s worth, Mace’s action is NO different from what dozens (probably hundreds) of other GOPers in Congress have done in the past. They vote against a program or bill passed by a Democratic President then happily trumpet the work “they” did to secure money for “their” districts (while completely ignoring their vote against the money’s appropriation–worse, no reporter in their district ever challenges them, “Congressman, do you still support your vote against the bill that helped fund this program?”).
