I wonder how many stay awake drugs these people are doing. The Washington Post reported that US officials are preparing to cut 8-50% of agency staff. As expected, this caused one h*ll of an uproar. There is a fresh wave of outrage directed at Muskrat and DOGe. Well, that could have been interesting to just have the jobs cut and report on them, but they’re going to have a much harder time going through with it. I hope anyone and everyone goes to the news and screams about it. There are still a *few* decent information and press companies.
Just for “fun”, here is the list that’s going around. I assume everyone in the federal government is worried about losing their jobs, so this could be expected, but geez. Do it or don’t, guys. Don’t leave everyone in limbo and hell. The current document only shows 22 departments. The Washington Post was told by several people that planning remains fluid. Yea, right. So it’s time for me to get to it.
30% at the Department of Commerce;
50% at the Department of Housing and Urban Development;
25% at the Department of the Interior;
8% at the Department of Justice;
30% at the Department of the Treasury;
10% at the Environmental Protection Agency;
33% at the Internal Revenue Service;
43% at the Small Business Administration; and
28% at the National Science Foundation.
A couple of those are really serious cuts. And, of course, a number of those agencies are also here to help the people of the country. It’s going to take a long time for someone to get any help there. Hold times are going to suck, and that’s just a start. It’s already happening for Social Security, which isn’t even officially on the list yet.
“Cuts have already been announced at some agencies, including the Education Department, which said this month that it would be reducing its staff by half. The document did not list those reductions among its totals,” according to the paper. “It also did not specify staff reduction goals for certain agencies, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs.”
Trump and Musk’s “DOGE-Manufactured chaos” is already impacting both federal employees and Americans who rely on them. At the Social Security Administration, which aims to oust roughly 7,000 staffers, bringing the agency down to 50,000, beneficiaries are already dealing with website problems and hours-long wait times for phone services.
Responding to the Post‘s reporting on social media, writer and podcaster Wajahat Ali asked: “How does this help the economy become great again, MAGA? I’ll wait…” I wonder if he’ll ever get answered. But it’s a d*mn funny comment!

Zoomers, if you can spare a donation, it will keep us trekking through cyberspace from planet to planet and psychotic news story to psychotic news story. We just need a little green energy to keep going on our (now) nine year mission, and who knows how long it will take to get rid of Trump? Thanks. Ursula

As you say in your second paragraph, Susan, let’s look at what’s happening just for “fun.” I think it is “fun” to think that the brain drain in the Federal government, and the resulting lack of institutional knowledge, can be of great use to the states as Trump keeps saying “let the states do disaster management and education and etc.!”
I think this is “fun” because states and cities are stepping up and saying “we’ll take all that talent because we value what those people have learned and we value their work ethic!”
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Kansas City, MO Mayor Quintan Lucas, to name only two are having job fairs to get at the talent pool Trump is kicking out! Politico has been reporting on this.
I find “fun” in my vision of the Federal government putting itself out of business for many things and the fight when that government wants to still collect taxes for services only the states provide and the states telling the Feds to go pound sand!!
Ooh, the goose bumps my devious self gets thinking of the unintended consequences total dunces create when they fire the government that gave them power and letting smaller powers hire their power away!!
Just let yourself wander through the thought experiment of moving real smart people who know how to give really good service closer to the people they serve and, one day, being able to ask Trump and his Cabinet “what do we need you for?” I’m a dreamer! 🤔😁🥳

Agent Orange is a disaster. Vance is a *bigger* disaster and I actively hate him. I’ve seen a far amount in the news about states and locals trying to grab all that talent. I hope they do, because eventually “leadership” is going to figure out what a HUGE mistake they made, and then it will be too late. Awwwww, too bad so sad. Actually, I’ve also seen other *countries* trying to get that talent, too. This DOGe nonsense is gong to get them in big, big trouble. Aww.
