I just love it that a guy with a total of two years experience under his belt as a junior senator has suddenly morphed into an expert on international relations and foreign policy. Just out of the blue. It reminds me of The Matrix, where one of the characters says, “I need to know how to fly such and such helicopter,” and then that information is downloaded into them and away they go. Did J.D. Vance simply say “I need to be a learned diplomat,” and the program was downloaded and now he’s that? Maybe in the movies. This is getting weirder and weirder.
The worst part is, this isn't a joke. They're really serious about taking over Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal.

I wonder if it’s possible that the United States could actually go to war with Canada, Denmark, Panama and Greenland? I never would have imagined such a thing but the way Vance is talking, you have to admit, it’s shaping up to be some kind of a possibility. Unless Vance and Trump figure they can just insult foreign countries, while they threaten them, and all will be well. Since that duo took office, their only favorable ratings are with Russia, China, and Israel. All other countries polled now view us unfavorably. And Russia, China, and Israel only view us favorably because we’re now stupid and playing into their hands.
A poll of Greenlanders found that 85% of those polled do not want to be Americans. So what is Trump going to do, just make some kind of military aggression on our neighbor and ally? The way Vance is talking about it, it seems like that’s being hinted at.
Vance’s wife, Usha, is visiting Greenland next week, for whatever that’s worth. Maybe she’ll get fewer rocks thrown at her than J.D. would get thrown at him. Trump said three weeks ago that the U.S. would take control over Greeland “one way or the other.”
“We need Greenland for national security and even international security, and we’re working with everybody involved to try and get it,” Trump said
“But we need it really for international, for world security, and I think we’re going to get it. One way or the other, we’re going to get it,” he said.
“It’s a very small population, but a very, very large piece of land. And very, very important for military security,” the president concluded, before moving on to a separate topic.
This is totally batshit. But look for Trump to keep pushing the envelope on this. It’s been said that Trump treats our allies as our subordinates and he only treats Xi, Kim Jong-Un, and Putin as peers. Actually, he is Xi’s, Kim’s and Putin’s subordinate, and he’s the inferior of all of our allies. The entire world sees that truth except Donald.

And this matters because—?? The size of Greenland is immatetial, plus we already have a base there and two.in Iceland.
That’s the thing. Instead of being dickish Trump could have positioned the U.S. to have huge influence in Greenland. Expand the existing base, and improve the port Navy ships (ours and NATO’s) uses into something significant. Even establish an Arctic Warfare training ground. It would have been a huge economic boon to Greenland and helped them move along with a mutually agreeable split with Denmark. But Nooooooooo. Trumpty had to go be a bullying asshole. An opportunity that could have benefited both countries was lost.
He’s following Putin’s orders for him to get Greenland so Putin çan put some of Russia’s troops there. Of course Trump will allow Putin to do whatever he wants cause that’s what a Russian Asset has sworn to do.

Denmark.is doing fine by Greenland. Greenlanders might prefer sovereign nationhood, but that’s up to them, not Vance, who wears more eyeliner than 3 Goth girls.
Canada is a sovereign nation and a member of the Commonwealth. Trump.would be declaring war on the Commonwealth. It wouldn’t just be Canada, it’d be Australia,New Zealand,South Africa, India, Pakistan, and half of Africa.
He might get the Canal.back but he’d have to have Congress declare war.
