Good news is breaking out all over. You can tell it’s spring. You remember Dinesh D’Souza’s ridiculous book and movie, 2,000 Mules, which purported to depict the story of “mules” who voted illegally in the 2020 election? Mules are defined as people who carried illegal ballots to drop off points, which eventuated in the 2020 election being “stolen” from Donald Trump. Salem Media has been sued, they have learned their lesson and they are removing D’Souza’s garbage from their platform. Hallelujah.
Salem Media issued a press release Friday apologizing to Mark Andrews, the voter suing D’Souza, his publisher, and a conservative nonprofit called True the Vote which provided election fraud “research” without the evidence to back it.
“It was never our intent that the publication of the 2000 Mules film and book would harm Mr. Andrews,” the statement reads. “We apologize for the hurt the inclusion of Mr. Andrews’ image in the movie, book, and promotional materials have caused Mr. Andrews and his family.”
Salem Media shifts much of the responsibility onto the conservative activist and nonprofit they say they counted on to deliver reliable facts.
“We relied on representations made to us by Dinesh D’Souza and True the Vote…that the individuals depicted in the videos provided to us by TTV, including Mr. Andrews, illegally deposited ballots,” Salem Media’s statement reads.
“We have learned that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has cleared Mr. Andrews of illegal voting activity in connection with the event depicted in 2000 Mules.”
Amazing. Reality and common sense. Interesting what happens when the wheels of justice finally turn, isn’t it? This gibberish was distributed out into the world until a court shut it all down. Just like Trump and his gibberish.
The film has been removed from Salem platforms and neither the book nor the film will be distributed again in future, according to the statement.
D’Souza’s “documentary” became one of the leading disseminators of baseless election fraud claims in 2022 when it was screened in more than 270 theaters nationwide, the Associated Press reported at the time.
The film, which relied on a flawed analysis of cellphone data and surveillance footage, was praised by former President Donald Trump at the time for exposing “great election fraud,” the report noted.
Earlier this year, True the Vote admitted to a Georgia judge that it did not have evidence to support its claims.
The ballots in Georgia were hand counted three times. Donald Trump is a grifter and he has brought to bear an army of grifters, like D’Souza, who listen to his madness and make money off it with him. This is a great thing, Salem Media backing down and ceasing distribution of lies and propaganda. Another red letter day for democracy.
Like Salem Media wasn’t a willing accomplice to the whole batch of lies in the first place.

Why would any media organization rely upon a liar and a proven org whose entire existence is based on a lie? Well, those lies earn a LOT of bucks from the rubes who also believe the lies. Media orgs are no longer trustworthy and haven’t been for a long time. They have really staked out territory in the “no longer trusted” territory when they printed/posted/reported Von Shitsinpants’ lies starting in ’15. They’re only in it for the money-certain types of media orgs have always been this way but journalism media shifted dramatically to get a stake in this starting with fux nuz but now including NYT and other outlets which used to be the standard-bearers for trustworthy news sources.
At this point in time, of the major media orgs/news sources, I trust NPR and foreign sources and I’m wondering how long I’ll be able to trust NPR. I just assume, safely I’m quite sure, anything on xitter, f.b., etc. are lies which is why I not only do not have a presence on these and other s.m. sources, I don’t believe anything that makes reference to something seen on s.m. sources. Obviously anything referencing the NYT, Sinclair Media, etc. are also ignored-they’ve earned this distrust.
No lawsuit? No admission of the truth. I wonder how many have already seen it and believe it. Too goddamn little to goddamn late. The damage has been done.
