This did not take long at all. Mike Pence did an interview on Fox News Friday and he mentioned that he would not endorse Donald Trump for president, no surprise there. And the response was mixed. There were some people who praised him for consistency and sticking to his guns, while MAGA immediately shot back at him, “We don’t want his endorsement.” Well, MAGA folks, the fact of the matter is, you need every vote you can get. But tolerance and inclusivity are not Trumpian traits, we do acknowledge that.

And yes, Dick Cheney said thank you, and Tim Miller pointed out, “Who knows Trump better than his VP?” So, certainly anybody reasonably sane is thanking Pence today, but MAGA is not reasonably sane.
And as of 3:00 p.m. PDT, Trump has not chimed in. I’m sure he’ll just amplify the MAGA furor with a two-minute hate of his own.
The moral of this story is that if Pence had never gotten involved with Trump he would have been better off. If the GOP had never gotten involved with Trump, it would have been better off. But you can’t let a lunatic into your ranks, let him run things, and then when he decides to wreck everything, make that the moment to stand back and decide you won’t support him anymore.
After all, the Republicans knew Trump was a snake when they took him in, didn’t they? I, too, am grateful that Pence didn’t decide to fly in the face of the Constitution and help Trump with his coup d’etat. It’s just a massive shame that it had to get anywhere near that point. And it got to that point, the minute the Republicans put Trump atop the ticket. That’s the tragic truth. Everybody saw it but them.

Pence said that he could not endorse tRump.
He will still vote for the insurrectionist.
“… he mentioned that he would not endorse Donald Trump for president, no surprise there.” Speak for yourself. As for me, considering what Trump did to Pence, and to the country, and how long it’s taken for Pence to get here, I have to say I am moderately surprised.
Tell me what surprises you. Pence “knifed” Trump when he ran for president. That was the unforgivable sin right there.
Somewhere in a closet in Maine Susan Collins is wringing her hands with muted concern and consternation.
And we mustn’t forget her furrowed brow.
How appropriate, it is the actual ides of March, right now.
I see the back-stabbing has commenced.
Et tu Brute?
