Word has just come down to me that the Little Political Blog That Could is too profane for Google and some of our pages have been flagged. Ergo, I’ve informed writers that if we need to say f**k, we say it that way.
I have also been informed that profanity in the comments can be cause for a page to be flagged by Google. So, in the spirit of cooperation I am asking all commenters to either refrain from profanity, or use asterisks. We get your meaning, and we please Google at the same time.
Also, while we’re on the subject of comments, no advocating of violence. Ever. We are not wingnuts, we are the good guys.
The importance of this is monetary. There is a process of ad bidding, which I don’t know anything about, but simply, if a page gets removed from bidding consideration, then of course we lose money. We don’t want to lose money around here, quite the inverse. We want to make it.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Isn’t it funny how different branches of ostensibly the same culture can interpret things?
For example, in Australia, calling someone a ‘good c*nt’ is uncontroversial, normal, even, and the word, sh!t is in common usage, even being quoted in Parliament without comment.
While locking children in cages, banning books, undermining election integrity, trying to overthrow the elected government, or lying under oath to become top judges, are all regarded as obscene.
Odd, isn’t it, how priorities can change?
I am surprised that Google is so puritanical. But if putting an asterisk in a cuss word will keep them happy, and of course no advocation of violence, then do it we shall. We only want to keep this choo choo going down the tracks and carrying the word. Toot toot!
There are a lot of people that whine about language that’s not elderly-white-church-lady clean.
While supporting republican policies like those above.
The true irony is that some of those “elderly white church ladies” can let out a blue streak that would embarrass even the raunchiest of salts.
Yes. And the truly shocking things in life they let slide. I’m not sure what Google is thinking, I just seek not to get on their bad side.
I have to wonder if Google’s rules apply to writers on the other end of the spectrum?
Google AdSense did shoot down Steve Bannon at some point. Not sure what happened with all that. That was a few years ago.
I think most here already follow these rules for the most part. The point is to survive and thrive. I was a sailor and can cuss worse than anyone, but when I write I try not to.
What about words like ‘fascist’, ‘monsters’ traitors’ and ‘filth’?
George Carlin says flicken Google. Perhaps the fascists at Google are responsible for the sh/tty response that your web page has been delivering. Constant crashing, ect….
Flicken google.
Just a question….isn’t Google run by a couple of upper caste ASSHOLES from India where 600 million shit outdoors, twice daily?
Fuck google….
Oh my f$$king Gawd. What kind of $#*ing bull&&%# is *%^$ Google trying to pull? This is some #@&% lame@ss &%#@!%#*
Too much has been said, written experienced, and proven about the dangers of prioritizing style over substance for me to add to it here.
(This could be a situation in which autocorrupt could actually help, for those of us who are old and forgetful. Probably ot possible.)
Got it. Keep up the good work.. your blogs can be so healing on days like this where news is horrid.
CENSORSHIP. It’s all the rage in 2023!
Sorry. I have never understood why Politizoom allowed its readers to advocate violence against Trump and actual Republicans. I thought that Politizoom was angry with rightwing nut jobs who advocated violence against Democrats, Black Lives Matter, judges and prosecutors in Trump cases, election workers, doctors who provide abortions, etc. So, why is it OK to publish “leftwing” threats against Trump, etc.?
Regarding all the obscenity and profanity that appears on Politizoom, I find that it gets in the way of any logical argument the reader was making. Nobody cares what I do, I realize, but I simply lower my evaluation of the intelligence of the person using the emotional but empty language. If he wants to appear no smarter than the typical Trump supporter, I guess that that is his choice. I think that such prolific use of rude language of any kind, including name-calling, hurts the anti-Trump cause, but, Hey!, Freedom of Speech and all that.
I suggest adding a sentence or two with the rules at the bottom of each post to keep us from forgetting. You guys do a f**cking good e-newsletter. 🙂
