Very strange things are popping up on the internet. Maybe Gaetz is going to play ball with Steve Bannon and Trump is going to become House Speaker.
I have no idea. I just post this stuff. Right now my jaw is dropped, but I will continue to post weirdness that I find, while Murfster stays glued to the TV and interprets what’s going on in the real world. I will put on thigh high boots and trudge the internet.

There has been a stunning development in the ongoing House speaker drama: Former President Donald Trump said he would accept the role of speaker if elected.
Both Kari Lake and Gen. Michael Flynn confirmed the news to The Western Journal.
“I talked to President Trump last night and told him he would be great and he should do it,” Lake told The Western Journal. “[I said] that he could take Congress from the most hated branch of [government] to the favorite branch.”
Lake’s pep talk appears to have worked, because Flynn told The Western Journal the following: “Trump says, ‘I will do it.’”
This would be a shocking turnaround for Trump, who has long supported Kevin McCarthy for speaker. […]
Only James K. Polk has ever held the roles of both president and speaker.
Should Trump win the 2024 general election, he would likely have to vacate his position as speaker of the House.
But that’s a future problem for Speaker of the House Trump, should that ever come to fruition.
I thought he was going for Grover Cleveland, come to find out it’s James K. Polk. That is, if you can depend upon the word of Kari Lake and Michael Flynn and when have we not been able to do that, right?
Nothing is up on Truth Social, other than what I just posted. One would think that the titular head of the GOP, its frontrunner for the next presidential election would be visible at an hour like this, but that’s not happening.
But don’t miss the larger point here. This is the adrenaline rush the base needs. This is what gives them a dopamine buzz that could last for days or at least long enough to donate to their right-wing idols. This is the political theater that these low lifes thrive on. And right now, ladies and gentlemen, the inmates have control of the asylum. And that is what you are seeing here.

Well, yea and no. “Impeachment” (which the HOUSE decides) requires only a simple majority. “Removal from office” (which is what the Senate decides–the result of a “guilty” verdict) only happens with a 2/3 majority of all Senators present and voting.
Trump was twice impeached by a simple majority vote in the House but failed to be removed from office by the Senate due to a lack of sufficient votes in each case.
More rescue fantasy bullshit on the face of it. If it IS more, doremember that Trump and Co no longer have command or control of the military or DOJ. And with their classic lack of coordination, they’ll eff up this attempt too if it’s serious…well, as serious as these morons can be.
