Well, this is something I’ve never seen before. Today there was yet another senseless slaughter in a small town in a Texas elementary school. The last count I heard was 18 elementary children and 3 teachers dead, with possibly more casualties to come, as others are still in local hospitals being treated.
By a happy coincidence, the fucking NRA is scheduled to hold their annual convention this weekend in, where else? Dallas Texas! And of course it’s the crown jewel of Texas politics for the season.
All of the Texas GOP political glitterati were lined up. Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Senior GOP Senator John Cornyn, junior GOP Senator Ted Cruz, as well as Traitor Tot are all on the schedule to speak, most in prime time spots.
Except maybe not. In the last hour, Senator John Cornyn’s Senate office came out with an announcement that the Senator had personal commitments in Washington that would keep him from being able to speak at the NRA conference in Dallas. Who would have guessed that Cornyn was even capable of feeling shame?
The Democrats really need to run on gun control in November. Not just run on it, but make it front and center. Because the numbers are purely on their side. Right now, 90% of American citizens, including Republicans and independents. There are other measures, such as limiting magazine sizes and ammo limits that are almost as popular nationally.
The Democrats are going to need every vote they can scrape up in 2022, and pushing common sense gun limits is a way to activate the Parkland shooting victims, as well as their national network of youth activists to show up to vote. Make common sense gun reform a front-and-center issue in 2022. That’s a weak spot that the GOP can no longer conveniently defend.
I certainly hope the democrats snag some footage of the ‘pubes making fools of themselves in Dallas. Contrasting their silly-assed posturing with this latest slaughter of children as well as their supposed “pro-life” b.s. and perhaps the dems can actually win some races. Will they seize this opportunity?
Not to mention highlight the GOP’s utter hypocrisy when it comes to “life.” I got an email the other day noting that the overwhelming number of GOP House members (it may have been 100%–I don’t recall right now) voted AGAINST the measure that authorized the flights of baby formula (which, this country is currently suffering a shortage) while they also fought the Democrats’ plan to ensure women have access to abortion.
So, no to formula for the post-vaginal babies but yes to ensuring pre-vaginal “babies” get to become post-vaginal (no matter whether their mommies can afford them).

Joseph: Six Rep’s broke ranks. The usual group, Romney and Friends accompanied by Susan Collins on chorus, you know the usual bunch? I wonder if Green will drop her absolutely tasteless gun totin attack adds running up to the next election, or will she try to brazen it out. I hope its the latter, I want to see that nuisance of a human being get unemployed asap!!!
NRA convention will be in Houston Texas not Dallas
Not gun control, total elimination of large capacity magazines and any weapon that uses them. The AR-15 is THE choice of mass murderers. It doesn’t take the intelligence of a 2 year old to connect the dots here. They must all be destroyed so this can never happen again. F your thoughts and prayers, stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. Enough is enough. I want every jackass politician in Texas to go to the parents of these dead kids and explain why their myopic views of gun ownership take priority over their kids’ dead bodies.
The Jury is not out on this issue either Chris. After the country of Australia banned guns, rounded up all illegal guns and imposed restrictions on who can carry guns, their national murder rate dropped over 90%. But don’t take my word for this check it out, Google it, and while you are at it check out when was the last time Australia had a mass shooting. Proof positive that the favorite argument of all die hard gun owners “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people” is just pure BS! People rarely kill others with their bare hands or a rock? Well all be safer if we all vote in Nov.
What I did see was I’m not sure where he was but Beto Orouke confronted both Abbot and his clown sidekick whoever he is. He told them you have failed and other nice things and they escorted him from the room. It would be hilarious except for the reality that people are dead. No parent should have to bury their child. It just ain’t right.

Just watch those old GOPers get suddenly luke warm when the NRA calls them to offer their election support, same ol same ol. You can be sure that the public is getting tired of hearing old Mitch describing with his sad look on how he is deeply concerned while he does nada. I guess it might as well be now sadly. There are elements within Trumps base who have been hoping and praying, ( I mean literally praying) for the left to try to take them on in any way. They believe that the confrontation will start on Friday, they will kick Biden’s ass out of office by Saturday. On Sunday they will fix up all the F ups of government since Independence Day, and then off to work at their happier new jobs running this new great country on Monday morning, stopping off at their fave coffee shop for their usual morning cup of joe. They don’t have TV’s I guess and they haven’t heard of Ukraine. God help us all, what the Right has been caging for, for years, they are finally going to get!
