As usual, we don’t know who the usual suspects are in Trump world. If this was any kind of normal, logical campaign we would know exactly who was making decisions which were against the candidate’s (and the party’s) best interest. You see the headline above, which is from Matt Drudge’s report. It looks satirical and I thought it might be a meme. But no, it is real. It is actually there. And if you go to the article and click it, here’s what you get:
Evidence of the backlash was immediate on Monday: A nonpartisan Puerto Rican group drafted a letter urging its members to oppose Trump on election day. Other Puerto Rican voters were lighting up WhatsApp chats with reactions to the vulgar display and raising it in morning conversations at their bodegas. Some are planning to protest Trump’s rally Tuesday in Allentown, a majority-Latino city with one of the largest Puerto Rican populations in the state.
And the arena Trump is speaking at is located in the middle of the city’s Puerto Rican neighborhood.
“It’s spreading like wildfire through the community,” said Norberto Dominguez, a precinct captain with the local Democratic party in Allentown, who noted his own family is half Republican and half Democratic voters.
“It’s not the smartest thing to do, to insult people — a large group of voters here in a swing state — and then go to their home asking for votes,” Dominguez said.
Yet that is exactly what is going on right now. Tomorrow, October 29, Trump is going to a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania — after one hell of a warm up act on Sunday in New York City. Beyond incredible and in any other election cycle this would be beyond belief. But no, this is happening.
Many people have asked, what possessed Trump to want the rally at Madison Square Gardens? The best guess that has been made is that Trump himself wanted the rally in the Olden Days when he was leading Biden — assuming that he was in fact leading Biden. I think Joe was right to step away when he did but I will go to my grave not believing that a second Biden term was doomed.
I think it was good that the decision was Joe’s and I think that Harris/Walz is a great ticket. I am proud to be a Democrat in an election cycle where there is such a fine ticket. The game’s afoot, as Sherlock Holmes would say. And we don’t have too many more days left of suspense.
Trump was not in terrific shape in Pennsylvania before Sunday’s Madison Square Garden stunt. Now, he’s got to dig himself out of a hole that he himself created. And if Trump loses Pennsylvania — which is looking increasingly likely — then he’s in bad shape. And if he loses both Pennsylvania and North Carolina, you can call it an early night before the states out west are tabulated.
I for one can’t wait to see Drudge’s headline: How about “They’re Eating The GOP — Starting With The Fat Orange One.” Maybe Drudge would let me do a guest column, ya spose? Hell, I’ll pay him for the privilege, I just want to write the headline and wait for the MAGAts to keel over in their traces, like sick horses, when they read it. :))

The polish on Turd Trump is finally tarnishing, and concurrently, no manner of GOP/MAGA veneer thin glitter will ever hide that truth. His self sustaining stink is now beyond redemption and or retrieval.
My guess is that the person responsible for self-defeating rhetoric is none other than Himself. Thank God that the majority of Americans are not buying his BS this time around and are more and more disgusted with it.
Trump wanted that MSG rally to inflame the storm troops, to whip up all the racist angst possible and get their blood surging towards violence on and after 5 November. The more chaos he generates, the more likely his ass-lickers in Congress can toss the election to the House, thereby stealing it. Thanks to his big stupid mouth at the Gardens, we all know the little “secret” he shares with MAGAt Mike Johnson: the fix is in.
“those who make democracy impossible make revolution inevitable.” John F Kennedy
400 million guns on the street thanks to those who will be in the crosshairs…the American Nazi Party…aka the GOP.
“I think Joe was right to step away when he did but I will go to my grave not believing that a second Biden term was doomed.” Very well said, and I agree. But I also agree with what you say just after that. We’ve got a great ticket.
